I have an item on its third 30-day cycle that, out of the blue, has gotten 144 views today, which is about a gazillion percent increase. It's obvious that traffic is being driven to it from a blog or something, but my Inkfrog traffic is just showing "Direct" (i.e. Ebay) as the traffic source.
Is there any way to find out what's up?

Did you check your eBay/Omniture reports to see if it has any info?

did you try googling the title? BINGO! Thank you! As it turns out, the traffic IS coming directly through Ebay because, unbeknownst to me, my item is showing up on this Ebay page: www.ebay.com/cln/ebaystyleeditor/Peak-Performance/183001430013Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. It's gone from 4-5 watchers to 21 today. Hopefully, someone will pull the trigger.

Did you check your eBay/Omniture reports to see if it has any info? Mystery solved now, but I didn't want to ignore your advice. I can never get those to work for my store. They used to several years ago, but don't anymore.

You have to log into the account once every 90 days or it goes inactive and stops collecting data.

Glad you figured it out where the traffic was coming from though!

Yay!
Well, that page you linked only has 59 followers. I'm venturing to guess someone either pinned it or tweeted it. Maybe from that page.
Either way--YAY! Hope it sells quickly.

So, this morning my selling page shows that it has 1501 views and 28 watchers.
Between yesterday (when the activity started) and 8:30 a.m. today, my Inkfrog traffic shows 233 views. Not sure what accounts for that huge discrepancy.
I was hoping to wake up and find it sold, but no such luck. If those 28 watchers think I'm going to cave and slash the price as spring draws near, they're going to be disappointed. If it doesn't sell this cycle, I probably won't relist it until late fall, so I'm not worried about all these impressions harming me.
