Nothing but gross stuff for me. Used Kleenex, candy wrappers, random gum wads wrapped in tissue. I need to find new places to shop.

My best find was in a purse I bought for myself at a thrift. It's leather, style I like, lots of pockets, no outer wear visible, about $3. The problem was in the lining; a piece of candy had melted & fused together 2 layers in a pocket. It took me many months to face the clean up job. It ended with 2 small holes which I patched with some fabric I had that matched the color of the lining. It's for me, not to sell, so o.k.
Then as I was checking all the pockets & thinking what each should be designated to hold I found a pocket within a pocket and saw some folded bills. Outer one was a $10, figured the ones inside would be ones, opened up and found five $20's.

I read a few years ago on the CAB how someone bought a robe or something that had tons of $$$ sewn into the hem.

I give all my donations to the thrift where I bought my purse with the hidden money. I used to give to some of the others, too. I buy mainly from them also.

I found an early 60's Hamms Beer MN Twins schedule in a vintage purse, sold it for $10 I think. $5 in the pocket of a coat. Pretty much just old tissues, gum and pills otherwise.

Tissues and lint, the occasional penny. I remember someone on the CAB years ago found a bracelet that was worth several thousand dollars. After that I checked every pocket of every item on the racks for a while

credit card receipt for $42 at the bar at the opera house...with a $3 tip. I hope she kicked down some cash for a tip, too. $3!!! Back when we actually had a social life (pre-child), the unspoken bartender tip rule was $1 per drink, but that could just be a regional thing. It is entirely possible that $42 was just for three drinks.

I find tissue. Lots of tissue!
Last week tho, one TS had a 50% off sale and I bought 4 pairs of jeans for DS which was a super score. I washed them then put them in his room for him to try on. He comes out and says "YES, look at this". LOL--there was a dollar bill in one of the little coin pockets. Of course, he then proceeded to look thru every pocket of the rest of the jeans LOL!
Now, if I could just find at least a dollar bill in EVERY pocket!

After that I checked every pocket of every item on the racks for a while I remember that! IIRC it was really ugly, too. That boardie went through a lot of rigmarole trying to find the person who donated it. She wound up keeping/selling it though, right?

What I remember was that she DIDN'T try to find the rightful owner. Finders keepers and all that... Didn't it have teddy bears on it, or something else equally whimsical?

YES, I think it was teddy bears! Guess the other bit about trying to find the owner was just wishful thinking on my part.

It was debated endlessly at the time. Several of us, including the finder and me, were of the opinion that SHE was the 'rightful owner" and under no obligation to jump through endless hoops to search for whoever lost it.

a stash of MJ in a man's suit pocket, entertainment stubs, business cards, cotton hankies. candy wrapper and up to +/- $100.00. I'm like somany, if found in the store it goes in the donation pot and if it makes it home it's a lagniappe. a $100 + pen would do it for me.
