Amazing performance. She was so emotional with Julie Andrews.

I love Lady Gaga! She graduated from NYU Theatre School. You can't get in there without an audition and being very, very talented in a Broadway theatre way.

I was watching last night (while reading and posting here) and was very surprised and impressed by Lady Gaga.

I always knew the girl had some serious chops. But honestly I was waiting for some gimmck midway thru her performance. Glad that didn't happen.
As for the Oscars themselves--I ended up turning them off. The ONLY thing that kept me hanging on that long was Neil Patrick Harris.

Liz, I was the same as you. I kept saying to DH, she's going to rip that dress off any minute now. I'm glad she didn't. I really enjoyed the performance. As soon as she started singing, I remembered that DD had once told me that Gaga was a classically-trained singer.
We were in and out of them. I see about one movie a year and I generally dislike celebrities, but DH was switching to it off and on. Glad we caught her and Julie Andrews.

They were talking about her on the radio this morning and brought up a good point. She's always been extreme, wanting to not follow the crowd so she dressed crazy and did crazy performances but now that's become the norm so she's going to go the other way to classy and sophisticated to stand out. Think they are right and I sure hope the rest follow her. So tired of seeing the trashy stuff that comes out on stage anymore. Nasty should not be a style LOL

The best part of the Oscars, and I love Neil Patrick Harris. She looked stunning and sounded amazing.

I was surprised to see her perform that way. She was spectacular. I am one that dislikes all her extreme crazy get-ups and stunts she always pulls when performing. This was a nice side of her to watch - an A-1 performance!

I kept waiting for midgets to jump out of her dress or something I'm glad she didn't do something flashy or gimmicky. And "Glory" made me cry a little. I didn't watch much of the show, but I'm glad I saw those two performances.

She is amazingly talented and I have always liked her music. I am glad to see her tone things down. I think the new fiancee may be helping that along some.

I have always liked her and the fabulous singing.
And I LOVE her fiancee Taylor. I swoon over him on Chicago Fire.
I hope that the bullies in her life are feeling really bad now. Been there.

Oh she was absolutely incredible! She looked beautiful in the gown. You see that soft side in her when she did the duets with Tony Bennett. She is so talented. Hey the schtick shes has used got her where she is today.
I also love John Legend and that performance was magnificent too!

I knew it. You could hear it in her music. I went and saw her in concert here about 4 years ago. Alone. What an experience that was. She put on a heck of a show.

That's why I LOVE it when NPH hosts the Tonys. Multiple musical numbers, and the Broadway crowd really gets into it. So much energy! Hollywood crowd? Meh.

I worked 3-11 so I miss that kind of stuff. I saw the posts on Facebook and looked at the video. I think it was great. I am not familiar with her nor her music. Could have done without the tattoos (JMHO).
Not that I don't like tattoos but I did not like where they were on her and they were a distraction from the beautiful dress and singing.

She really nailed it. She also looked great, I think Tony Bennett may have helped soften her up a little bit. I always liked her and was glad to see that performance.

And it was announced yesterday she has a role in the next season of American Horror Story!
She disappeared for a minute and is staging quite the "comeback".
