It is coming along. Most important part, I have built this all by myself! I cut the wood, drilled the holes, everything on my own. Still have work to do tomorrow. Hoping to be near done by the end of the day with it. That way I can add mulch and it will be ready when the girls are big enough. This is the first part of the run. It is attached to the coop. The box on the left hand side is the dust bath box. The lid is hinged so I can open it to add more dirt after they fling it all out. LOL The next part of the run. It is attached to the first part. The end side on the right is what I am going to call, the swingers club. Yep, going to put a chicken swing down there for them to perch on! For no other reason but that I CAN! The door is going to be a pocket door, so it slides open to the left. I am going to pull that grass out and put a walkway to the door in with raised garden beds on either side for my herb garden. The grass isnt doing well there anyhow because of the heat from the greenhouse in the summer. And I dont like wasted space.

Wow! I'd be great at the design, not so much at the execution. Not AT ALL at the execution. I just can't saw wood. I suspect it takes patience. lol.
How many have you got, Mup? Did you buy them as little fluffy things? Are these your first ones? What colour are they?
If this is already in a thread, please direct me to it.

I want to see pic's of "the girls". A few weeks ago I saw a chicken coop contraption at a GW, it's wasn't huge or anything but it was cool. Maybe in my next life I'll have my own chickens that provide me with delicious eggs.

This is Mavis. She is a Rhode Island Red and the oldest of the group. The other 2 girls think she is their mommy, which irritates her. LOL This is Holly. She is an Easter Egger. I cant wait to see what she looks like when she gets big. This is Nugget. She is tiny and the youngest of the group. She likes being held and like to fall asleep while being pet. I have a video of it but I dont know how to post a video here.

I got my pocket door done today! I am so proud of myself. And it worked the first time too. LOL

Wait until you all see the chicken tunnel to the compost bin! LOL That will be next summer. Luckily the love I give them will be returned tenfold in entertainment and eggs.
The chicks are seriously so sweet and funny!

Have you checked into chicken pests in your area, Mup? Lice and stuff?

I am sure I will end up with some pests. I will put food grade DE in the dirt bath area, which will help. I also put apple cider vinegar in their water. I will deal with things as they come.
