I'm setting up an Etsy store.
I put one item in my store (just trying it out as far as listing goes) and now I have to add my payment info. I really don't like the idea of putting my bank info in there. I don't mind the credit card, but I really don't want to put my bank account number and all that in there.
Do I have to do it this way? I looked at the other threads and didn't see this addressed.
Nevermind, I just found an article that talks about Direct Check Out. As a new merchant, I don't have any choice if I want to sell on there.

I use Paypal. Is that something new?

Jelly - here's a link to the article I read explaining it. www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/10/09/etsy-inc-this-latest-move-might-cost-the-company-i.aspxI really want to sell on Etsy, I just hate putting my bank account info on their site. You hear too many stories of sites being hacked. Credit card info is one thing, bank account is definitely another. My savings and checking are connected they have the same acct number. That's why it makes me so nervous. I might have to open another account just for the etsy. That thought just occurred to me.

I have a totally separate bank account attached to Paypal/Ebay/Etsy/Tradesy. It's even in a different bank than my regular accounts. I withdraw as soon as I get a fund transfer from any of the above places.

I guess I could use the account I use for Paypal. I never keep more than $130 in there. I just use it for transferring money from PP to my regular checking, so any larger amount is only in there a day or two.
Not thinking too clearly lately. I'm just going to blame it on my insomnia.

Thats interesting? I've only been selling there about a year or so. I thought you only needed a bank account if you are willing to accept other forms of payment like credit cards or gift cards.
I only accept Payal and everything is set up thru them just like Ebay.
Might explain why I seldom sell anything?
