Just started on desktop and laptop. I could swear that I used to pay $25 a year to eliminate the ads. Now they want twice that.

Used to be $24.95, so you're not imagining that. I have the freebie version for my personal and get ads all the time. I have paid plans for my two biz emails, no ads on those yet.

So I clicked to pay $20 a year but it covered until Aug 1, 2016? Uh $20 a day??? I am too tired for this carp.

Holy cow. I just looked and to go ad-free it's $49.99/year.
Um, no. I'll just put up with the ads.

I got back in and I guess I was up for renewal, so I had one day to renew at $19.99. So that one day Aug 1 thing meant that I had to renew immediately.
I have free Ad Muncher and even that didn't stop the hideous ads.

The increase and adds and price is probably because Verizon bought Yahoo, pretty sure it was finalized last week. I'm sure there will be lots of up coming changes now that Verizon is taking over the core company.

Oh joy. Wonder what my hosting is going to go up to? I have two biz email accounts with Yahoo too, wonder what they're going up to?

I don't know anything Verizon owns isn't going to be cheap so I'd expect them to go up. Or that's my experience with Verizon anyways. They start out reasonable and then skyrocket.

Since I have my cell with Verizon, wonder if I will get a bundle discount (she who asks dumb questions).

That's actually not a dumb question. But I bet they don't have an answer just yet. Have to crunch the numbers.

I knew Verizon bought Yahoo but hadn't thought about the side effects. Doesn't Firefox use Yahoo as their default search engine? Wonder how that will be affected by the change or if we'll notice.

Desktop: I use FF & Adblock plus - no ads on my Yahoo email.
On my phone & tablet (android), I get one unobtrusive ad at the top.
