I do but in a very limited fashion. I would love to talk to others that do, whether it is a lot or a little. I am wanting to learn some of the ins and outs of FBA.

I used to sell a lot of books there, but have never sold anything else. Their fees are pretty high, to be honest (at least for books). As an individual seller, you have to price books at around $2.50 to make a $1.00 profit. Of course, that scales with the price of the book, but they truly do nickel and dime you to death (referral fee, closing fee, item fee, fee for using their shipping).
Plus, they almost always side with the buyer, even more so than eBay. I read their forums quite a bit and it seems there is no such thing as a no-returns seller there. You take returns for any and every reason.
I'm still considering getting back into books after I move and probably still won't do much on Amazon.

I haven't been selling low dollar items yet. I did initially list some stuff that would not sell on ebay, no matter how I tried. It all seems to sell on amazon. I do not like the shipping part, you have to figure that part out in your pricing.

I wanted to sell on Amazon-- FBA. The idea of having them store my inventory is appealing, but the fees are not. Plus, like Jeremy said, you take returns for any and all reasons.
The book market seems extremely competitive, and in my city, the thrift stores are scanning books themselves and sending them in, so not sure if I would sell books there.

No books for me. Too much work for too little money. I belong to a local fb group that sells books and even though it is not lots of money, I can still sell. If I had something cool or rare, I might do it.

I have and still do on occasion. But I will only list there if the item (book, CD, DVD) is something rare or hard to find. I can't compete with those huge book sellers with 99 cent books. And, as others have mentioned, the fees are so high.

I sell on Amazon since 2013, I use the Amazon Seller App. I see something that might sell there, use the app to see if I can sell it (I am not Fulfilled by Amazon), what the profit will be, then follow the prompts on the Amazon Seller App, and list it.
I suggest it to anyone to supplement ebay sales, if you need to. I do not use FBA, not comfortable enough. The amount I make off Amazon is fine for right now with fulfilled my merchant.

I have some books listed on Amazon, have sold books there for several years, never more than 50 in a whole year. I'm just selling from my own collection. I won't list it unless I can make several dollars. I wish they'd raise the amount they give us for shipping.

When I sold on there in the early 2000s, they didn't have that fee. It was just the percentage (can't remember what it was) and the 99 cents (if you were an individual seller). You could actually sell penny books and make money. Now, with that fee your books have to be over around $1.50 to break even. What is the point in giving $3.99, only to turn around and charge $1.35 on top of everything else. Greed, pure and simple.

I never sold on Amazon, but I did send in CDs that had been collecting dust for years for an Amazon gift card to the trade-in store. I ended up with about $25. You can see what they will give you for a particular cd or book to decide if it's worth it or not. It adds up. Before sending, I uploaded the cds or just certain songs to my itunes. Haven't missed what I sent in. If I remember correctly, they sent me a mailing label.

I'm always shopping on Amazon though not for CDs or books and the prices for selling them there are a pittance.

With PayPal shipping not currently working I've been thinking about using Amazon's shipping on the rare occasions I sell a book. I'm assuming they provide tracking on Media. Jeremy mentioned a fee for shipping. Who knows how much that costs?

We were just approved in the Health & Beauty category. I tried to apply several years ago but at the time it was locked.
We'll do the fulfillment; the fees for FBA are steep-plus they charge a storage fee. And like most selling venues these days, the competition is fierce. I'm sure like most venues, it depends on what you sell there. I sell homeopathics, natural beauty/skin care, and nutritional supplements. In addition to other small sellers I have to compete with a few of my manufacturers.
We plan on starting this week so hopefully I'll have more insight within a month or so.
