You can cast your vote now: ebay.promotionexpert.com/smbofyear/I know, some of you don't like this idea. Because this type of thing has failed in the past. I figure it will flop again unless we vote. So I'm sharing this here if you want to participate. I think it's decent exposure for small business. And at least they're doing SOMETHING to recognize and reward their sellers. Laurie Wong has my vote: ebay.promotionexpert.com/smbofyear/laurie-wong.html

Okay, you got me to look. Haven't read through all of them yet, but I'm leaning toward Eloise Holbrook as I can relate to her story about being a starving artist. ebay.promotionexpert.com/smbofyear/eloise-holbrook.htmlAnd you're both right. Having eBay promote small business, even in this small way, is a good thing.

Oh, and I just read the rules - You may vote once per category per day, through July 11.

Funny coincidence-
I voted. Then I posted here.
Then I got 4 sales on 45 minutes. It was like eBay saying "thanks for voting, here are some sales" LOL!

I had a sale right away, too, but they've been trickling in, so dunno. I'll vote for something else tomorrow! LOL - there are lots of good candidates here. In fact, they're all good.

I haven't had a sale all day, maybe I should vote and test that theory.

Nor me! Maybe I'll wake up to see a flurry of sales...better go to bed and rest up for it!

If you only voted for one company, go back and vote in the other categories.
Plus I think you can vote once per cat per day, isn't it?
I liked reading their stories.

Their stories are great - mine would be so dumb: "I kept getting laid off so before I went stony broke I went out and bought a bunch of stuff and now I flog it on eBay. I keep all the money for myself. The end."

I voted in more categories!
Chap, mine would be boring too.
I buy shit dirt cheap and peddle them on eBay so I can have money. The end.

"I decided to sell on Ebay because the then-BF said that there was absolutely no market for used clothing on eBay. He annoyed me so I wanted to prove him wrong. Boy did I!"

I've voted on both my accounts, just because that's where I've been logged in. Not sure that's kosher - I've just been voting once a day.

folks - you can vote once per day per CATEGORY. Once for non-profit, once for family-owned, once for woman owned, etc. Be sure you're using all your votes!
I'm voting ReflectionsOfTrinity, Laurie Wong for the non-profit. I like that most of the funds she raises stays local.
One good note - all three are legit 501-c organizations. It appears eBay did its due diligence for a change.

I voted Jalmar Araujo for best global biz. I like his attitude. Actually I liked the other guy too, that was a tough pick. I didn't care for the lady selling electronics.

Doesn't hurt that he's cute (well, my kind of cute, which I guess is kind of quirky) lol. Also one for Laurie Wong.

I don't care for the name of the award (Shine) but I like the concept. I wonder if eBay will make this an annual thing? It would be kinda cool. Might even give some sellers the incentive to think larger.

A least it's not Gold Star! or "Kick it Out!" or some such hokey kindergarten thing.
