I sold a pair of shoes for 75.00 on Feb 4th, shipped on the 5th. On the 11th, the buyer let me know that she hadn't received them, and that tracking showed "processing exception".
I asked my step sons wife to check it ( she is a postmaster nearby). She said the package has been "looping", but that it was now at the correct PO, and should be delivered the next day.
My customer and I watched it for the next few days, and it just sat at the PO for 5 days. My customer was out of town and wasn't real concerned at this point.
I asked the the lady in charge of our PO to look into it. She called me yesterday and said that there was a problem with the zip code, and it was still looping.
I sent my buyer another message, letting her know that I would call her PO the next day. A few hours later, she just got home, and the package is there!
the PO shows that it is still looping.
Had she been dishonest, she would have had free shoes, and the PO and I would have both lost money.

I think most people are decent and honest. Unfortunately the ones who aren't wreak havoc and we end up hearing about it.

I had almost the same thing happen with a pair id shoes except they went off the grid completely for 3 weeks. The buyer only lived 80 miles away from me so it's not like the package ever left the state.
It showed scanned in at my post office and then nothing. Tried to jar it loose but nothing.
Finally my PO told me to file a claim which I did and was paid.
then 3 weeks later the buyer paid me again and said the sandals had been delivered. Sure enough all scans then showed up so it was hiding at my PO until somebody finally found it and sent it to the sort center.
If she had not repaid me, I wouldn't have known any difference. I did send the money back to her as the claim had already been paid to me. She got free sandals for being honest.

I love when people are honest. Yesterday I gave a man $5 too much when I gave him his cash and he gave it right back without hesitating. It was so nice for him to be honest so my drawer wouldn't end up off.

It's always nice to hear stories about honest people, even though that should be the norm.
