I offer some items to specific countries, some worldwide and some US only. I haven't been consistent and am trying to come up with some policy I'm comfortable with. I'm curious if anyone wants to share which countries they don't ship to and why. I have excluded countries just because of horror stories I've read throughout the years, but not sure if I'm outdated in a lot of my thinking.

I probably posted this in the wrong topic category.

I do not ship anywhere that does not have tracking unless I can insure it through shipsaver. That would be Brazil and Russia. I also do not ship to Italy. I've had packages take forever to get there. Not worth the defects.

I ship to a limited number of countries:
Australia Austria Belgium Denmark Finland France (Some people have problems there, but I haven't and I have French buyers to thank for several high $$$ sales). Iceland Ireland Japan Monaco Netherlands Norway Sweden Switzerland UK
I have occasionally shipped to others when I've gotten a request and felt comfortable after checking out the potential buyer.
Interesting to note, that I've actually had sales to every one of those countries with the exception of Ireland and Monaco.
I've never had a problem with any of them.

If I sell an item and the title reads Gymboree...dress..size 6 it has a much larger chance of being stolen in customs than if I put "child dress". No name brands, size, etc.

I ship pretty much anywhere that is covered by Insureship. I also have France and Mexico on my exclusion list, although I think Insureship insures to France.

I think the only insurable country I have blocked is Venezuela, because they decided that they're hemorrhaging tax revenue and are charging huge customs fees on anything ordered internationally. Not worth the hassle.
