4 years ago a woman took her cat to some sort of spay clinic to be spayed. She broke out of the carrier and got lost. Recently she lost her other cat, the first cat's son. She was checking shelters for the son and found her cat that went missing 4 years ago! She'd been surrendered by her owner (which I abhor, but at least another family wasn't missing her). She still had pictures on her phone to show the shelter workers, plus the cat responded to her and "knew" her. The cat is now back home with her. Says she still has the same purrsonality* and everything.
