Gotta share this awesome shot of a bald eagle we saw while in Washington. Probably a once in a lifetime shot, taken at the Discovery Bat timeshare. We were about 20 feet away- it was totally unconcerned at the group of us freaking out with phones & cameras.

Great picture! We saw one in a neighbor's driveway not long ago, but by the time we realized what it was & got the phones out - it flew away

Jealous. Seeing one in the wild is a major bucket list item for me.

Jealous. Seeing one in the wild is a major bucket list item for me. We see them often here where I live but I'd never see one up close; they're always soaring or sitting in treetops near the river. Most of our cell phone towers have osprey nests at the top, which are pretty awesome too.

There have been reported sightings all around us, so I hold out hope. I see blue herons a lot - those are pretty cool too, especially when they fly.
