I never seem to get to them until the beginning of April. Now I have some free time because of my injury but I just cannot get motivated.

Raising my hand.
DH is leaving in a week to go out of town for a few days, so I'm planning on getting all the stuff together then.
I usually work on it end of February, beginning of March.

I am still waiting for Schwab to figure out what they are doing. They never send out the final statements until late February or sometimes not until March.
I usually get an extension until October anyway.

I haven't either. I'm a huge procrastinator! I will start this weekend. Maybe.

Oh lord no. If I get them done before 4/15 it is a miracle. I started trying to catch up on the paperwork/entering receipts this week.

I filed mine on the first day they accepted them (Jan 20) and they show accepted, but they are still processing. They state they get most done in 21 days, but my 21 days has become 30 with no update. I tried to call yesterday and I got the "Sorry, due to extremely high call volume, we cannot connect your call. Please try our automated system or call back again." The automated system doesn't give any info other than "still processing". I tried to call again today and all I got was the automated system.
So frustrating because I'm planning on getting a mini-van and paying for Tanner to get his license, but now that's all got to wait.

I work for my Uncle who is a CPA and the last thing I want to do is my own taxes and DH's business taxes. I keep telling DH to find an accountant because I am not doing them this year and this year rolls around and I end up doing them again. I don't mind doing everyone else's taxes I hate doing my own.

The instructions I put on the other thread should work. Are you trying to print the whole year at once? I don't think you can. I think it's 3 months max but I print mine monthly. I break down everything. You can use it to track your debit transactions too.

I usually do mine the first weekend in October. The extension is good until 10/15 - why waste it?

You know what I ended up doing a couple of years back? I paid for and used Outright (GoDaddy Bookkeeping) and imported everything. It was (and still is) a Godsend! It is one monthly fee I do not mind paying for at all. I'm sure there are cheaper or even free ones out there, but I really like this program. I think they have a free version. It may import everything? If not, sign up for the free version just to keep everything in one spot then when you do your taxes next year, it will all be imported there.

I am working on mine right now. Well I was until I had to sit and wait until last years return downloaded. I cant find where my 2013 ending inventory cost went. I am hoping it is on my forms.
I do know how much I actually made last year now. Suffice to say, I couldnt live off of it. But since I use it for spending/travel money I am glad I didnt make a fortune as I dont want to owe again this year.

I throw all my tax crap in a bag and take it over to our friend who is an accountant. We barter services, DH does plumbing and stuff for her and she does our taxes. I wouldn't even know where to start with tax stuff. Gave it all to her last Monday.

DH has been self-employed for almost 30 years; I've tried bookkeepers, accountants, H&R Block etc... all a grand & expensive fiasco. So now I do 'em myself and am much happier with the results. I don't usually start ours until April 1st but will be out of town the 1st week of April so I've gotta get working on them sooner. We'll owe as usual so we won't file & pay until April 15th about 11:50 pm.

I usually pay estimated taxes and get an extension.
If I am owed money...I get to it when I get to it. No penalties so no rush.
No, I haven't even looked at tax stuff.

I do sales and fuel taxes at my day job, so the last thing I want to do is my own taxes. But this weekend is my deadline. I have to get my sales tax in by month end so I usually just suck it up and get them filed.

Me! But I never actually do them anyway, that's what my DH and our accountant are for. I just sign on the dotted line.

I second outright. It's awesome. Taxes are easy peasy. I think the difference in the paid and free version is the paid will track all year and the free will only go back 3 months. But if you print it out every month or two during the year free is all you need. I know I won't do that so I go with the paid LOL Mine are filed, returned and spent already

That's because you are too busy doing everyone elses.....Nah. It's really because I'm lazy. Me too. Since a couple of years ago when I found out how easy it was too file for an extension until October, I have taken it as a Bonus Ball and definitely jump on it.

I pulled all my paperwork together last weekend. I think that pile will just sit there until March at least.
