Just sold an item through "best offer" and sent buyer an invoice with a FedEx shipping charge of $23.44. I use the shipping calculator and that is the amount that should have come up for the package based on weight, distance, etc. Buyer gets the invoice and messages me that the shipping calculator is showing a shipping cost of $19.41. I don't tell her this, but, that is the amount I am being charged with my TRS shipping discount. I called eBay to ask if they gave my shipping discount to the buyer, and after a long, long time on the phone and having to explain the situation 3 times, I was told there is a system glitch that showed the buyer my discounted shipping rate. eBay is now crediting my account with the difference and I am honoring the $19.41 shipping charge for the buyer. I am not sure if this is only happening with FedEx shipments, but it is definitely something to be aware of.

Unbelievable, isn't it? If they're not going to give me the discount, why am I offering 14-day returns and 1-day shipping?

This is an option in your shipping preferences. Pass along discount to buyer or some wording. Make sure that box is unchecked or they will get your shipping costs, too.
EDIT: Trying to find out where it is now.
EDIT 2: It's called "Offer Carrier-Specific Discounts to Buyers" EDIT 3: Be sure to check the second radio box, but None of the other boxes.

I don't have that box checked. This is just another monumental screw-up on eBay's end. I'm thinking it might be related to that post that Val put up recently about how some invoices had dropped the shipping costs entirely. The tread had a link to an article on eCommerceBytes about the problem. After reading some of the letters to the editor from that article I'm wondering if I really will get the credit that was promised. Another buyer reported he was promised a credit too but didn't get it. I see another call to eBay in my future.
