Hi there! Here's my story:
Bought an item on ebay. Seller dropshipped via Amazon. Item does not work. I messaged requesting a return.
After a lot of back and forth, they sent me a return label VIA EMAIL.
I have 2 issues: 1. Will I be protected if they sent me the label this way, or does it need to be sent via ebay messages, if possible? 2. The "FROM" zip code on the label is not my zipcode. Will the post office reject this and send it back to me?
Thanks for any and all help you may provide.

Yikes, that sounds like a hot mess.
Whose zip code is it? Is the seller's zip?
Did you open a case with Ebay or is it still on the informal side?

It's fine that they sent it via email. That's how I've done it the few times I've had to. I don't even think you can attach a pdf via Ebay messages. Just make a note of the tracking number.
They probably forgot to change the "from" zipcode from their own. I've done it, it should be fine.

The zip code does match where I'm sending it to.
We are still informal - I try not to open cases as a general rule, unless I get nowhere in messages. Good seller karma and all that.
Thank you both!!

I think you're safe. If there is postage due (from shipped from zip not being yours), it will fall on the seller to pay it at delivery.

I don't think either is a big deal. I always send mine by email. As for the zip code, they probably just forgot to change it (or didn't know they were supposed to, as not many know that field even exists). Unless it's Priority (non flat rate), it doesn't matter. You could change it manually if it bothers you, but I wouldn't bother, it's the seller's issue, not yours.
