the girls and I did a sleep over at Cheyenne Mountain zoo last night. And by sleepover I mean, we didnt sleep because we were on sleeping bags on a concrete fllor locked into a building. However, we got to get up close and personal with the giraffes. OMG I want one! They are just so silly! And curious. And smart. Apparently they have facial recognition capabilities. So if you are feeding them and tease them or give them to little, they will remember your face. You can come back a few weeks later and they will refuse to come to you because they remember your face. Here we are. I was petting her face and she loved it.

Sigh.

We've been wanting to go to the Cheyenne zoo because of the giraffes. And there's something going on at the Denver Zoo with them not letting auditors in to check their books.
The sleepover sounds fun. Maybe a couple of mats under the sleeping bags next time?

Mup, could you hear the animal sounds? Cos that's the whole point of the zoo sleepover.
I'd like to go to Africa and stay in one of those wooden huts out in a wildlife park. They have advertising pics of giraffes sticking their heads in the windows at breakfast time. And elephants too, lol. You can go on trips where you stay in tents but I'd prefer some solid wood between me and the prowling lions.

I was with 45 girl scouts and their moms, the only animal sounds you could hear were giggling girls......
We did see an elephant rocking back and forth and was told that they think it is because they are feeling vibrations through their feet, or something like that.
Dantes: Denver zoo finally opened the books. It sounded ot me like this city guy was on a witch hunt and they were avoiding him but who knows?

lol, imagine walking into a room and finding a giraffe sticking its head in! I don't know about letting one kiss me, but since they're herbivores it might be all right once in my lifetime. It's not the same place I was thinking of, mine had huts and also elephants.
