Just curious- I'm in the process of changing things up online sales-wise and am importing my eBay listings into my booth right now. Any good news to share as far as sales go?

I'm open over there. It's very odd. After about 6 months of nothing, Last week I had 2 sales within a few hours of each other. I don't pay for any search upgrades or anything.

How do the pictures come over from eBay? Used to be, Bonanza made them square and you had to edit. Is the picture import any better? I might bring stuff over if it is. That was my only complaint last time I sold there (several years back).

They looked ok to me. The only thing I noticed is they don't take down some sold items or items I don't relist.

Val - they fixed that problem with the pics, TG. That was a big PITA to adjust all the off-center pics!
If adding additional pics to a listing you can just drag the picture in from anywhere on your desktop or folder and drop it into the little picture squares. I wish ebay had a drag and drop instead of uploading all the pictures into their antiquated photo program.
All I seem to do though on Bonanza is check in over there to delete the sold items from ebay. Sales for me used to be 3-4 month, now few and far between.

I've had a booth there since 2010. I did pretty good the first couple years, then changes were made for the worst for sellers and sales literally tanked. And I had up to 1200 items listed at one time. I had a whopping 2 sales last year. I don't pay for anything extra, either. I'm debating just looking for another venue and closing my booth. It's more listing smaller stuff or items that aren't worth paying higher fees on ebay.

It's my understanding that the fee changes at Bonanza for exposure were due to Google changes when Google went to the pay or don't be seen model. It started about the time I closed my booth. That Google change is also when (and why) sales tanked on ebay.

One thing I like about Bonanza.......Since I use SYI to list on ebay, I don't have the luxury of storing my listings in a listing program such as InkFrog, Auctiva, etc. that archive all my listings. I like that Bonanza keeps listings there forever - until you remove them or they are sold - it's sort of like a holding place for all my unsold and sold listings.
On ebay, sold listings are shown for only 90 days back, then the listing is gone. On Bonanza you can access the SOLD listings for many years back - mine go back to September 2010. So if you sell a duplicate item down the road, you can easily grab that listing from the SOLD file and use it along with the all the stored pics.
Also, when I decide not to relist something on ebay, instead of donating, I just keep it listed over there.
They really need more buyers over there.

Thanks for your replies! I'm putting some effort into Bonanza this time around cause I'm trying to reduce my dependence on eBay. Planning to close my store Friday and just use free monthly listings to sell for awhile. I closed my Big Commerce site last month- they were great and I have no complaints about their service. But using them as a sub-domain shopping cart for my apron site just didn't work out (at $30 a month I broke even for the year). I'm adding Paypal buttons directly on my selling pages- a real PITA but if it works out will be worth the trouble. I need to reorganize the whole website, linking pages properly; after I'm done I'll post the addy for comments & suggestions.
All my listings imported from eBay into Bonanza okay and the pictures aren't wonky so that's a plus. I did as they suggested and reduced the price by a small percentage. I'm paying the 9% fee to advertise so I can reach Google shopping. I assume the 9% they say is max includes the FVF as well as the advertising? All of my descriptions are bare bones now with few long-tail KWs (since Cassini doesn't care). Do I need to rewrite the descriptions with more details?

I'll be curious to see how this goes. Right now I'm just trying to list regularly on Etsy. I had a bonanza store but it went nowhere in the months I had it, despite my paying for some advert so I closed it. I hope things have changed and you have good results, Retro!

I hate looking at the "sold in the last year" results. In a lot of my searches, it's less than 25
