The Humane Society is bombarding their foster list with pics of the cutest freaking kittens that need foster. One email right after another. Plus I have to meet my rescue at her adoption event tomorrow to pick up Revolution that she orders direct from Pfizer so it is cheaper than anywhere else. I am not taking a carrier but knowing her, she has the kittens already picked out for me to take. NO MORE KITTENS!

Wish you lived near me Kritter - I'd be taking a lot of them. DH is always saying we need to get a few kittens for Rusty to play with.
We have always had 2-3 cats at a time - this is the first time for the past four years that we are one-cat only.
I wouldn't even know where to start with all the trouble I had trying to adopt a kitten.
I'll take that orange tabby on the end! Orange male cats with white chest have always been my favorite followed by brown stripe tabby cats with a white chest.

Black sewing cats unite! That guy looks like he would command a sewing room.

LOL We definitely need to get him into the ICNFSWA so he can get the union protection against kitten mistreatment in the sewing room.
Early training by experienced ICNFSWA members will ensure that he takes command of the sewing room.
My black cat, Bonnie, is one of the outside girls and she volunteered to be an enforcer if necessary. She is not much on sewing but she can hold her own as a Sargeant at Arms for the union.

I'm with fashion! Those kittens neeeed you! They're so little they don't even know about mouses yet!
And if you can resist them, think of all the poor MomKats in labour RIGHT NOW, poor MomKats who need a warm home and an understanding midwife.
Kritter, take a carrier. Take two. You know you want to.

Shirley is the midwife, not me.
I absolutely can't bring a Momcat in with kittens or about to have kittens. That would never work because I am out of private rooms.
Sabrina and Kenya have to come first and neither one would work with another cat, especially a Monkat.
Nope, not taking a carrier.

We definitely need a union enforcer Kritter! Bonnie accepts the enforcer position but just so everybody knows, she does not come from a sewing household so she can't fill in for anybody where needles and thread are involved.

Kritter, I feel that it's time I spoke frankly.
The kittens need you. Not only those cuties in the pic above, but all the ones that are hatching right now. They need you, they need Sabrina and Daisy. They need love and mouse toys. And maybe a turbo track. By not taking kittens you are failing in your duty to Cat World.
And not only that, but I think you've failed to consider the human aspect. Have you thought of all of us out here jonesing for kittens? I don't think you have. Some of us have only big cats, some of us have NO cats. Think about that, Kritter: NO CATS.
Where is your heart, Kritter? Where is your soul? So many needy, deserving creatures, feline and human, that need YOU. How can you say no?

Petti, when have you not spoken frankly? That is what I love about you. There is no guessing what your position is on any topic. I brought no kittens home. All the kittens there were either staying at that Petsmart or going to another Petsmart for adoption. No little bitties for foster. There was the cutest little black kitten there. She was trying so hard to get adopted. I mean she was jumping, twisting, and climbing to everybody's delight. Her furever home just wasn't there today but she really put on a show.

( said in my best Abe Lincoln voice) LOL!
Sorry Kritter, they will find you! You know it's only a matter of time! Same with Shirley who is hiding around here somewhere!

This morning I walked into the small ACE hardware store here in town and was startled to see a cat lying on the display boxes piled at the end of one of the aisles. He was just curled up sleeping on the top box, a beautiful black/silver tabby. I've never seen the cat in there before, and was just taken off guard as I almost bumped right into him. I asked the clerk and she said the cat showed up a few months ago and was just hanging around the doors, it was cold outside, so they let it in.....you know how that goes. They took the cat to a vet it is a male cat about 2-3 years old, and was in pretty good condition. They posted flyers and an ad in the paper, but no response. They had him fixed, and the cat now belongs to the store and lives there.
I wanted so much to scoop him up and take him home with me. Got a few pets in on him and he didn't even open his eyes, oblivious to the hustle bustle and noise around him. The store is in a nice quiet location set way back off the road with a lot of land around it out back, and the store is small enough inside that he can easily maneuver all of it. The people that work there are nice, a few are related to each other, a small family place, and I think the cat found a happy home. The store is open on weekends but closes at 6-PM at night - I hate to think of the cat in there at night all by himself.

(((poor little black kitty))) I've been thinking I'd like a black one, next time I adopt. I don't sew, but I could take up cross-stitch again. I gave it up because my kittehs at the time were far too helpful. I did the Berlin kind, with wool. STRANDS OF WOOL + kittehs! How stupid was I? lol. I used to go into a separate room, but then they'd stuff their paws under the door and meow, or climb onto the roof, look at me through the window, and meow.
Okay, Kritter, you're excused for today. But too many excuses and you get a detention, keep that in mind.
At your Petsmarts, is it advertised that the kittens are rescues? Because I've discovered that they have adoptions here (at Petbarn, lol) but before I found that out I wouldn't have adopted from there because I thought all pet shop animals came from "mills".

I wonder what people do when they want to buy the thing he's sleeping on? Lots of cool shops in the city used to have a cat hanging around, mostly sleeping in the window. It was a great way to get people to stop and look. You know, Desire, if you want a cat like that I'm sure there's one out there waiting to be adopted... Just saying. Or, actually, was it you who had trouble adopting? Maybe you'd have better luck if you tried to get an adult cat at this time of year when they're overwhelmed with kittens.

Yes, the name of the rescue is slapped on front of the glass cat enclosures.
Petsmart has advertised their commitment to rescue animals for years here through their Petsmart Charity work so I doubt there is anybody that doesn't know that these are rescue animals and not from mills/breeders or whatever.
The little black kitten that I saw today was the friendliest kitten for her age that I have seen in a long time. She was climbing all over the girl that was playing with her. She won't be there long.

Our Petsmarts put where they came from on their info sheets. I have never seen one from a mill, though I supsect there have been some that have been rescued from a mill.
OUr garden center on my side of town has cat mascots that live in the greenhouses. They are put into the office building at night though. Years I have been shopping there and have never seen them, until I went there 3 dys ago and there were 2 of them laying under a table. I stopped to get cat love.

I'm with kritter on this one - no kittens! Kenya has been a trouper and really does deserve Kriter's time for a change. ((((kenya))))
However.
I will say, Kritter does an awesome job with kittens. Trixie has to be the least scared kitten I've ever had. And friendly. She's still a bit reserved around new people, but new places? Not a problem with her!!!

It's all very well for you, Val, safe and secure with your kitten love, but what about the rest of us? Huh? What about the kittenless ones? And what's all this "time" Kenya needs? I agree she's deserving, but it seems to me that Kritter only has to make sure she gets her meds and keeps a collar on. It's not as if they're involved in all-day psychotherapy or hypnotism sessions! KITTENS KITTENS KITTENS! WE NEED MORE KITTENS!

They're probably wondering if they should call 911 because you're having convulsions. How's Daisy at dialling?
