Ina had a story today about the shipping boxes that eBay is going to sell. A few readers replied that they might buy some with the $25 coupons they get from eBay. What coupon are they talking about? I have 2 basic stores and never get a coupon. Does anyone else get a coupon from eBay?

I just got a $10 one on my non-store ID, as did several other boardies, cuz there was a thread maybe a week ago. But, it was not valid on the category that shipping supplies are posted in, cuz I tried to use it on that. The one I got & the other boardies got was a "we've missed you" coupon & it came in snail mail.

Hmmm....I got the impression that the others who responded got the coupons on an annual basis because they have stores. Maybe a higher level store than the basic ones I have?

My sister got the $10 coupon saying 'we've missed you' in the same mail as her eBay purchase... she shops both eBay & Amazon frequently. I've never got one and rarely shop online. Go figure!

It's part of the Spring Seller Update. Different coupon amounts for different store levels to use towards Ebay branded shipping supplies. Spring Update Features and Fees

Aha! That must be what they were referring to. Okay, if I get a coupon I'll buy their boxes if it covers the full amount. When I get them I'll cross the eBay logo out on the boxes. They need to pay me to advertise for them.

You're advertising for yourself.

I wonder if we have to pay shipping for these supplies. Right now I buy envelopes at the Dollar Store for 20 cents each and seal them up really well with Dollar Store wide tape. Clear tape over the entire label too. That's a cheap way to pack as long as you include a plastic bag inside that is also taped closed. The bags are very cheap at our local grocery store. I've only had compliments on the shipping and packaging. This is mostly for women's tops. If I sell a sweater or something like that, it just goes priority and the envelopes are free USPS. I'll take the ebay advertising envelopes if the shipping is free or very low but with sales being so bad lately, I'm not paying high shipping for something I don't need.

NEN, poly mailers are a lot cheaper than your manilla envelopes and don't need all the tape (which you also need to factor into cost). I get batches of 100 9"x12" and with shipping they come out to $0.109 each. Nine cents cheaper than yours, before you add the tape cost. Sturdier too.

When I did ebay all by myself for many years, I bought poly mailers but now dh does the shipping and he insists on going to the Dollar Store. But if the ebay envelopes have FREE SHIPPING, as Jeremy says, I'll get some. (I think/know) dh likes going to the Dollar Store. His favorite place. And, Jeremy, thanks for clarifying the free shipping on the supplies. Knowing ebay, I thought there would be a catch--like free supplies but expensive shipping.
