I have been working for the past few days on scheduling a bunch of costume jewelry listings to start tonight. I use the SYI form and I am NOT in the Global shipping program. I will ship to Japan, UK and Australia. I happened to go back and look at one of my listings to revise something and saw that in addition to the 3 countries I will ship to, the boxes were also checked for Germany, France, Europe and the Russian Federation. I don't understand how this happened. I had to manually go back and revise about 30 listings to remove those countries. Has anyone else had this happen? Is eBay sneaking these countries in without telling us?

I also just checked some of my active listings and they have those countries too. What is happening here?

thank you for posting this
I was just about to dip my toe back into Intl shipping but if they are going to change where we ship to then I am going to stay US only.

If you have your countries specified in your preferences (which is really doing your exclusions), I don't see how they can force you to sell to other countries. I've just ignored that so far. It's under some kind of heading like "these countries have to contact you about shipping." Weird. It's been that way for awhile but no one from Russia has contacted me (I do sell to France). If they do, the answer is nyet.

Frakin - I just looked at it again and you're right it says they have to contact you for international shipping costs. But it also says "will ship to the United States and the following," so they are saying you will ship to those countries. When did they start adding that? I wonder if you can refuse a buyer from one of those countries and not get a defect. I don't like ebay sneaking anything into my listings.

Look under your site preferences/shipping and make sure that those countries are still checked off as excluded. If so, I don't think they can make us sell to them. But of course it's eBay, so anything can happen.
