Lastly, I have this knit RL linen blend fisherman type sweater with a bateau/boat neck. I thought it was perfect, but upon photographing yesterday, I discovered some damage, not even sure how to describe, at the corners of the boat neck. I'm guessing it's from being hung on a hanger, the extra pressure there caused it to rip or unravel at those V points.
I don't know anything abt knitting. Is this an easy fix? Should I even list it? Or just take it as a loss & redonate? It is perfect in every other way. Like new, actually.
And here's the whole sweater

That's something that's going to need repair or it will continue to unravel. It is Lauren? If it is I think I'd just re-donate. Lauren has to be really special for me to get a good price even perfect.

I agree with redonating it. I have a free people open knit sweater that had section on the front of the shoulder that is unknit, the cross yarn is there but the linking up and down yarn isn't (not sure if that makes sense, can you tell I don't knit or crochet LOL). I doubt anyone is going to want to fix it and can't see anyone would want to wear it as it. So I'll probably just write it off and toss it in the donation bag. Or see if DD wants it for a bumming around sweater.

Yup, it's the green label, Ralph Lauren, nothing special, I just have (way in the past) done ok with these linen knit sweaters.
I don't have a DD, so in the write-off/re-donate pile it goes. I need to be more careful!
Thank you!

I would repair it and disclose. Even though I don't knit, I know to pull the yarn through to finish it off. Or take gray thread and take some stitches to turn under those ends and anchor.

I'm not sure Paralex it's a little size I think, next time I'm in there I'll dig it out and check.

I would also repair and disclose, you already have the item now, so you have nothing to lose but about 2 minutes of time to stitch that up by hand. If it doesn't sell you can always re-donate then.

I can't even sew a button, so repairing is not an option for me. I would either take it to my seamstress or would list with disclosure (more likely) & let the buyer fix it. I just don't know if it's worth it, would a buyer even want to do that?
Sounds like if people here can do it, a buyer could maybe do it too.

Maybe auction it. It's an easy fix with a crochet hook and needle and thread to tack it down.

Yeah Peek if your daughter doesn't want it and you're just gonna donate it or toss it and it's medium/large or oversized small, I'd buy it from you as is. I love Free People stuff and I would rather buy something flawed then inevitably ruin something new (I'm hard on clothes) especially something open knit when I snag on every piece of jewelry I wear.
