Very cute now but what happens when they get big and rowdy. I think I will stick with the kittehs but let me know how that works out for you.

They are adorable and cute when little.
Then they grow up and eat everything in your yard.

If they are going to eat all my weeds, I am getting two.

Problem is they don't know weeds from plants you want, and they do love to eat flowers.
You wouldn't have a rose bush or hibiscus or anything else left.

We had a stray goat wander in once, a young male. We had him for a few days until the pound could pick him up and he terrorised us! Every time someone appeared he'd run at them and butt them HARD. Would have been a nightmare when he was full grown. We didn't have an enclosure available so had to put him on a collar and chain and he'd strain at the end of the chain trying to get you. Wasn't at all interested in being patted. Plus I like to look my animals in the eye, and goats have weird ones. But goats make good eating. Sorry, Sundance, probably not what you wanted to hear.

OK, I give up. No more cute fuzzies from me if you all are going to go to the dark side with your stories & comments or worse yet, eat them! Ewww. I was going to say I am going to go count sheep and try to get some sleep, but you will probably all tell me to be careful, the sheep will trample me! Night all! zzzzzzzzzzz

Night all! zzzzzzzzzzz Now that you mention it, we also had a stray sheep. It wandered in and decided to form a herd with our horse. It lived with us for several years until...well, we didn't eat it. lol. And on this board we don't eat kittens, or puppies, or non-poultry birds, so there are plenty of things you can post. Actually there was a cute sloth story on the goat page, you could post exotic animals that we don't have access to.

I love goats. We had goats when I was a kid (pun not really intended). We had 2 billies and they were great...but not as house pets!

Adorable, they probably will eat the person's furniture though. Unless there is some kind of farm around they might also get in trouble for having it as a pet. But, so cute maybe I would take the chance, dress it as a dog when you take it for a walk LOL

Good idea, clean. But what about its hooves going clippety-clop along the pavement? You'd have to get it some slippers, too.

Someone here or on the other board had a bonded pet goat, they posted some pictures of it in their yard.

You are right, I remember someone posting pictures of their goat on one of the boards. Around here everyone has animals, a friend of mine has miniature donkeys, they are so cute. Let me see if I can find one of her pictures of them.

Friends of mine have a pygmy goat - they make good pets as they don't get too big and are quite intelligent. This one used to sit in my lap! At any rate, the goat hung out with their Australian shepherd, and pretty soon they adopted each others' behaviors - the dog would buck her kind legs and the goat barked lol.
We had two goats living down the road from our house until the coyotes came, as well as sheep. They used to be leant out to various neighbours to trim their grass - the goats and sheep would happily graze where they were put, and the neighbours didn't have to mow their grass. Win-win. Now no more goats and sheep - I really miss them.
ETA: Miniature horses sound like squeaky toys when they neigh. It's so funny.

I want a goat. And a donkey, I want a donkey so bad.
We had a goat when I was a teenager. My dad had bought her as a baby with the thought in his head of fattening her up and cooking her on the 4th of July. We had her about a week and he was talking about hooking her up to a wagon to help him with his yard work. She died of old age.
She would come running like a dog to you if she could see a lemon drop candy in your hand, she loved them!

I trained a racehorse that loved butterscotch candies. The owner's mom would come to the barn & crinkle the paper & Eager Sweetie would come running to the front of her stall. Normally, she just stood in the back & looked down upon her servants. (She was a really tall gray mare) We had another one, InTheBlack. He was a tough ole warrior, but every time he won he got a roast beef hoagie with all the trimmings! He loved them. Go figure?
