Worn down by eBay shoppers' stupid "best offers" I'm hesitant to receive offers from ShopHers buyers. Does anyone regularly check the box to receive offers? And if you do - do they tend to be reasonable/workable or are you seeing a run a nitwits offering $9.99 with free shipping for things you have listed for big bucks?
Thanks!

The offers I got were lowball offers. Often around 50% of the list price. Very soon after I started listing there (before there was an option to decline offers) I learned that I need to price HIGH so that I could entertain offers.
So if you are going to accept them, I would definitely look at the other listings and be near the high end of the scale. That way you can accept offers for as low as the price you were going to ask anyway.
I have since changed all of mine to no offers, though and lowered my prices some.
ETA: Remember too that their FVF is higher and you have to pay to ship to Shop Hers.

I left the accepts offers box checked for a few things that have been languishing on both sites a I figured it wouldn't hurt to entertain an offer. I've probably received four offers over the last several months and every one was less than 50% of the listed price, so I agree that it seems to bring out the lowballers. I didn't accept or counter any of them.

I have 2 items to add over there (hopefully today) and I'll be sticking to my "no offers" gut feeling. Thank you, all!

I only take offers on very high priced items. I don't like haggling. Make sure you check the "no" box for offers because the default position is "yes" (the only default on the selling form), if you don't want offers.

I just got an offer for $35 on a $39 item today. I took it since the item had been on eBay for about a year and I just wanted to get rid of it. To me, that was a reasonable offer. Two weeks ago I received a $200 offer on a $350 item. Declined, of course. Sold a few days later at $350.
My experience has been that the offers are similar to eBay offers. But my Shop Hers listings are priced higher (for the same item) than my eBay listings, for the same reasons already given - higher fees and shipping costs. I haven't yet changed my existing listings, which automatically became 'offers accepted' when Shop Hers made the change. I do plan to change that though. All new listings I've clicked the 'no offers' button.
