She is a writer, also she translates and reviews...her specialty is mystery books. She has been reading and collecting them for decades and what she doesn't know about the genre would fit into a walnut shell. She has started a blog and I would love if people checked it out. She needs the moral support, my stepfather is a lovely man but I won't lie, he can't be bothered to give her any and hasn't even read the thing. thrillstoread.com/

good for her--tell her she did a nice job!
can you help her add some buttons? (facebook, twitter, etc?)\
I would have liked her, but couldn't figured out how to do it, and i'm certainly happy to follow her.

Thanks for this Betty! This is my favorite genre, the books that keep me up reading until 3AM. I already had The Accident on my book list, so I know I'm going to enjoy the blog.

Thank you!!! She is a very, very good mother. I'm lucky to have her. This is making me well up - just a teensy bit (I have to retain my composure, I'm still at work ). That's how I felt about my mother. But not while I was growing up. I didn't get to fully appreciate her until I was well into adulthood. Seems you're both very lucky.

My mother left when I was eight and I didn't really get to know her until I was into my thirties. So we missed both the good AND the bad parts of the tween and teenage years.

I loved the review of The Accident. Love the dry subtle humor!

She is not on ANY social media, so no buttons to add. I might have to see if I can talk her into some of them. Ha ha.

Thanks Betty, mysteries are my favorite genre and it's always a pleasure to read about them from someone who writes so well.
Love your avatar by the way.

I'm distracted by the photos on the bookshelf in her header. Would some of those be of a young Betty?

Betty - how nice that you and mom have reconnected. Pretty cool mom. I too would love to read the Accident. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you for sharing. I very much enjoyed reading your mother's fine writing.
Now I know that you come by your charming colloquialisms honestly. Like mother, like daughter.
"Their comments may not please me, they may be talking complete codswallop ...."
BTW, she's being spammed by some Nike seller in her comment section.

This will be a resource for me, to find new books to read. As the children get older, I have more time to read. I neglected my love, but am getting time again to indulge. Time is still tight, so I want to choose wisely, hence, the need for a good book reviewer.
