I keep reading about how online sellers need to prepare for the upcoming postage rate increase. I use calculated shipping on all my listings and print the labels through eBay. Do I need to do anything? Won't eBay just feed the new rates into the shipping calculator meaning I don't have to do anything? Also, does anyone know if we will still get the TRS shipping discount from eBay?

Was wondering that too-about the increase. eBay will automatically calculate them for us.
My problem will be when I had designated the padded flat rate Priority with a price of $5.35. So I will be losing money with the increase.

I know Denise, just about all my winter items weigh in at about 1# so I use them a lot. I was thinking about changing things a while ago but put it out of my mind. Guess I should think about it again. I really need to look at the 13-16 oz prices & see if I need to make changes. Can't things just stop changing!

I don't even know what the new price will be with my discount?

It sucks because I really don't have the time/inclination to reweigh and reprice stuff...which I'm sure would help boost some sales. And, it really sucks for everyone getting the Priority Commercial Plus rates because that it is being phased out to Commercial Base.

Has anyone seen a rate chart with the new prices?
I had planned on reopening my store next week and have about 25 relists to go up. But many of those have flat rate shipping and I don't want to put them back up only to have to go back and edit them in a week because of rate changes.

I tried to find a rate chart on USPS a while ago with no luck. It's like it's some big secret. I have flat rate shipping on just about everything & would like to make adjustments on my new listings & fix the old ones. I guess I'll be doing that at the last minute or later.

It would be nice if eBay would tell us what the ebay shipping rates will be.

Didn't read this again yet, but I did before. May shed some light, but I can't remember exactly what it says. Figure we'll all read and learn together. LOL. announcements.ebay.com/tag/usps/

I just checked with my Postmistress and she has no idea what the new rates will be either as they haven't gotten any info on it yet.

From Class' information, ebay shipping will provide the following..
"Offering all sellers subscription-free pricing discounts - up to 37%* off Priority Mail® and 22%* off First Class® Package Service compared to retail rates"
There is the nasty "up to" in there so no telling.

Interesting that FC is going to be the same price from 1-8 oz.

Wow that is quite the increase on those light FC packages. Can't believe they are going to a flat rate on under 8oz. .50 is a pretty big jump when it's on a little item. Looks like most things are going up .40-.60 seriously buyers are not going be happy with those shipping prices when they see them. Especially when most probably aren't even going to be aware of the USPS fee increase. They will just assume sellers are jacking up prices. Oh well they will get use it, just like all the increases in the past, won't stress over it.
But I'll be able to ship a lot more FC with the new higher limits so that should help some.
I'll let ebay adjust the prices since I use calculated shipping. Don't know if I'll bother editing anything from padded FR to FC or not. May just wait and use it for new items. Leave the ones that are currently listed at FR like they are.

I rarely have anything under 10 oz, so the flat rate won't help me. But the expanded wt for FC will help

USPS is eliminating First Class Package Service Commercial Plus price category. So it looks like our discount will be less for FC packages. They're also eliminating Regional Rate C boxes. www.prc.gov/docs/93/93564/Notice%20CP2016-9.pdf

What used to be Commercial Plus will still be available but only to negotiated contract customers, if I'm understanding it right. Which is what eBay Shipping would be. I wish they'd let us know what our rates will be, if we get the eBay discount.

Awww shoot I have those region C boxes, like one big box in each size. Now they aren't going to use them anymore? Hate it when they do that and I get stuck with useless boxes. Guess I'll use them for something. I know my tiny PO won't want them back and I hate to burn them or throw them away, seems like a waste.

You can use them, peek, but at regular zoned/weight PM pricing. Apparently they're a nice size as I've seen posts of sellers stockpiling them.

I love the size of the RRA boxes, but sometimes it costs me a little more in postage to use them versus a regular PM box if the item weighs 1-2 lbs. I asked at the PO if I could use the RRA box and put 2# postage on it and was told I could not. I have pretty many of the C boxes and have never used even one. It'd be great if I can use them for regular PM.

So I printed a label today for a PFRE and the price was showing $6 something (now I cant remember the exact amount) and with my Ebay discount it cost me $6.05 for a label.
Apparently Ebay has already passed on the increase.

Hmmm.
I printed a PFRE late this morning and it was the normal $5.35 for me.

Class, I was reading in the eBay shipping board that the PO was telling folks to mark out the 'flat rate" part on the box and just use it a zone/weight PM pricing.

Still doesn't tell me what a padded flat rate mailer will cost, or what the FC price will be for 14-16 oz. Oh well. Guess I'll wait until Sunday, set a couple at calculated shipping and see what the cost is. Then go change everything.
