It's a very good argument for using a cattery/kennel.
What I can't understand is why the owners haven't been ringing every few days just to check that everything's okay.

The note was pretty vague. It could be that he wasn't taking care of any pets at the time of the stroke.

I never thought of that, Val. I hope you're right.
But the son must be pretty sure it's a current job or he wouldn't have gone to the police.
Imagine what they're coming home to. I'd never, ever be able to forgive myself for not checking up with the petsitter.

THe new petsitter I used over Christmas is great. She texted every evening. If anything happened to her, they'd be able to find all of us from her texts.
