She has an upset tummy. Explosive diarrhea since late last night. ICK! She has had to have a bath, and a very ugly haircut down her tail and back legs because she keeps getting it on herself. I feel like the mother of a sick 1 year old again. She's drinking water well and hasn't vomited, which is good. We're not sure if she snuck some people food over Christmas dinner (we don't give them people food unless I prepare it specifically for them) or if it's just some virus. I made her and she ate 1/2 C plain white rice which she scarfed up. Called the vet and with her symptoms they're comfortable with us giving her a low dose Pepto. She absolutely refused and fought us on taking the liquid. I'm going to run out and get her some chewables and see if we can hide them in a treat. Here she is resting on her bed wrapped up after trying to stay dry after her bath this morning.

Oh poor baby, can they give her a shot to settle her tummy? Hope she feels better soon, she looks miserable

Oh poor thing. Could she possibly have worms? It seems unlikely that eating some basic people food, would cause that. I know she's pretty new to your home, so I wonder if she could have worms from her previous living situation? The bland diet should help settle her down. White rice with boiled hamburger (or you can substitute other proteins), but boiled burger is the standard. I know you cook, but if you don't have time, Science Diet also makes a bland diet in a can. It's been awhile since I've had a dog, but I think it's called I/D & I believe you have to buy it at the vet. The other plus of the burger/rice is that they love it typically & it helps their tummies.

Oh, poor little thing! I'm so sorry she isn't feeling well. No fun for either of you.
Last time one of mine had the diarrhea, I got the Pepto pills. Mine aren't really good pill takers but will let me shove them down their throats when needed. I did have one Labrador who absolutely loved the pink liquid Pepto!
Hope she feels better soon!

I would try to run a sample to the vet. Has she been to a dog park or similar place lately? She could have picked up coccidiosis or giardia.

Well, she started shivering this afternoon and just decided it best to take her to the vet.
DH just left about 20 minutes ago with her. Hopefully it's just something simple and she will fell better soon.

Yep. Just bacterial.
Got the vet bland food, some probiotic sprinkles and a shot. (Steroids I think DH said)
Got her home, gave her a "back side" bath then her and Oscar got into a huge fight.
She cut his gum open and now she is limping. GGGGRRR.

Poor doggy, but what a beautiful colour she is!
If the vet gave her a cortisone shot it would have made her feel energetic, which might have led to the fight. So not her fault, she's under the influence!

Steroids can make dogs aggressive, esp. prednisone. Also makes them pee 10x more than usual. Sorry :-( I feel bad for both of them.

ROID RAGE!
Seriously, though - look at that poor sweet face, all cuddled in the zebra blanket.
