Here's a strange situation: A buyer paid for her item through PP but accidentally used her old UK address -- she's now in the states. If I give her a full refund and send her a new invoice with the local address, will I get a defect?
Stranger still: She's in Pittsburgh, teaching at a local university, and my husband has met her! So I know she's not a scammer. Would it be smarter for me to give her the item and refund in person?

I've delivered to locals before, here and in Tampa. Never had a problem. I refund the shipping.

What happens if I refund the shipping through PP but don't ship to the address she had on file? Would I still get a defect for that?

I just mark it as shipped in eBay, and I delete the shipping button in PayPal.

I had someone purchase something last night and then 2 hours later send me a message to ship the item to her new address. I really shouldn't read any messages before my morning coffee. Grumpy Girl (me) cancelled the transaction via eBay and selected the reason about there being a problem with the address. I then responded to the person's message telling them I canned it, to change the shipping address and let me know when that complete and I'd be happy to relist the item for her to repurchase. She contacted me a few hours later syaing that it wasn't available for sale anymore. So i told her again to let me kow when she's corrected her address and I will relist it then.
Crickets.
Meanwhile, eBay refunded her in full and I see no defects on my account. As of yet. Give it a few more hours.

I called eBay about this yesterday, the rep told me to manually ship it to the local address, mark the listing shipped and upload the tracking info, and refund the difference. She said I wouldn't get a defect and I'd still be covered under the Seller Protection Policy. Keeping my fingers crossed.

At least they're being consistent about being inconsistent. "must ship to confirmed address on payment" "ship it to any address you like". ::smh::In your case, I'm sure it will work out fine. Still no issues showing on my dashboard with my cancellation. The buyer messaged me overnight that her address has been updated so I relisted the shirt this morning. If she re-buys it, now I just have to worry about what she does to my stars. greaaaaat.
