Why do I feel like we are all fixing to be forced into undercutting our competition and will be making pennies on the dollar?

I don't get it.
They keep talking about catering to a specific buyer demographic when they're not the ones deciding what merchandise gets listed. I thought we as sellers choose what demographic we cater to?
Although that's fine with me. If eBay doesn't want high end stuff, another site will gladly fill that gap and will probably be a lot easier to sell on too.

I get that it is their site and they can do what they want with it. But they need to pick one path and stay on it. This constant vacillating about what they want to be and what kind of buyers they want doesn't do anyone any good. It confuses the hell out of the buyers and pisses off the sellers.

Isn't this good news for us? Instead of trying to fit us in the mold of the big retailers, we [already] are the value buyers are looking for. Am I missing something?

It would see to be a good idea. But every time they change their point of view they change how ebay works, which confuses the hell out of buyers and more leave in frustration. And how long will this change last? Whenever they get in someone new they have some different 'bright idea' and they will change it up again.

It could be a good idea. But I am skeptical that Ebay will handle it appropriately.
They bought that company that "helps" merchants decide on prices. and remember how we are now getting price suggestions?
I suspect we will be seeing much more of this and Ebay will be driving prices down to try and draw in buyers. Instead of letting the market decide prices. I can just imagine all these huge blue boxes everywhere saying THIS SELLER HAS THIS ITEM FOR $0.01 CHEAPER!

Wenig, he said, would oversee a marketplace tailored to customers "with more time than money,"
The bucksnuggler demographic?

Just more hype. They can't decide what they want to do and we are chasing their moving target.

If they could figure out how to apply it to cheaper listings, I'm sure they would. Sandra
