Just used my cc points and some gift cards from last year to pick up a few Black Friday deals for myself. I used the free delivery option, which is usually about 5 days to ship and then UPS. Estimated delivery is 12/24-12/28! I don't care that much as they're not gifts, but this is our competition/the venue eBay aspires to.

IME, Amazon overestimates the delivery time frame by a lot, especially around Christmas. I'm pretty sure their motive is so people will join Prime. I always use the free shipping option and even the ones that say they're going to take 7-10 days, usually come in 2-3. I've never had a delivery time frame of over a month away, though. That's ridiculous.

I agree with Class. On my orders from Amazon, they always push the date out and the things are here within a week or usually less.
I have always been satisfied with my dealings with Amazon.
The cat tree that I ordered yesterday from Amazon is scheduled to be here between 12/3 and 12/7 and that was using the free shipping.

I don't think the new CEO is aspiring to be Amazon anymore. He's actually been highlighting the differences between the two venues lately when he does interviews. He's not Donohoe Jr. Not by a long shot. I wouldn't be surprised to see the delivery time data extended a bit after the first of the year, either. He's mentioned that as well.

With Amazon it really depends on who you buy from. I typically still to ONLY "prime" items or items that ship only from the Amazon Warehouse. Everyone else is independent sellers like on here. But like others have said, I'm sure they have way padded the shipping time. Better to under promise and over deliver than over promise and under deliver

Both of these items, a kindle fire and a laser printer, are Amazon or fullfilled by Amazon items. The one book which is an independent seller had a huge window starting next week but I'd chalk that up to media mail during the holidays. I do hope the printer gets here sooner as it will save steps in my convoluted label printing process.

Update - the printer arrived yesterday and the book today. The kindle hasn't shipped yet.

And my cat tree and the turbo track cardboard dealies were on my porch this afternoon.
Another giant box to add to the Jet.com box fort that is under construction in my living room.

My cat tree is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.
Kitties are going to be very surprised and happy. They will have another big box to play with until I get it put together.

It is a great tree. It is the only one that I buy now.
The sale is still going on and I am so tempted to get another one at that price.

I'm hoping that I can get it put together and see how they like it while the sale is still on.
If they really like it I will get another one. You can never have enough cat trees.

I will be surprised if they don't like it. I have two in the living room and two in the foster bedroom and they are always occupied.
The top two levels are the most popular but sometimes Sabrina hangs out in the little house part in the ones in the foster bedroom.
If you can, put it where they can look out the window when they are on it.

I have a spot right in front of the window for it. It's where my old one was that finally bit the dust. They like to watch the birds from there so it should be the perfect place for it.

LOL I might as well just give in. They are totally spoiled already, what's one more thing to take over the house.

You won't be sorry to get one at this price because they usually are around $79.
When the price goes up, it will be too late. The low pricing for the year is now.
Damn, I am going to order another one. I talked myself into it.

They raised the price on Chewy.com too. They had it at almost the Amazon price.
Those prices just went up in the last 24 hours cause I looked at them yesterday.

My AMZN purchases (from the warehouse) are often delivered NEXT DAY! It's fricking amazing. The last one took 2 days, but was delivered on a Sunday. I think it said it would be here in a week or so, I knew it would be a day or 2. It always is.

Aamazon definitely rocks on shipping and I always use the free shipping when you spend $35 or whatever. I don't have Prime.

My cat tree came today and it's sitting on my porch.
I will have my yard guy bring it in and help me put it together this weekend.
Can't wait to see how they like it.

Nothing showing up on my price alert for under $60 for that tree that we bought.
That is the only tree that I stalk because the cats like it so much. It is sturdy and holds up well to the abuse that my cats deal out.

I got one from GoPetClub and it didn't even last 2 years. Got all wobbly and was just falling apart. Never again! I'm taking Kritters advice on this one since she has had so many of them and they are Missy Family approved.

Even the 2 trees in the garage and the 2 trees in the cat pen are still holding together just fine. They have been used for probably 6 years or longer.
After a couple of years of heavy use, the two in the living room go to the foster bedroom where they get two more years of abuse.
The final stage is the cat pen where there are already two trees and the ones from the garage will join them. The final stage is the backyard where the outside cat get to use them. They would still be good but the weather eventually takes it's toll.
I have never had one of these trees get wobbly or fall apart and the Missy Family is a herd of hefties.

Then it's just what I need, cause I have a few hefties and Boris has turned out to be ginormous.
My yard guy will be here tomorrow so I will get the box in the house and start putting it together.

Get the Amazon Rewards Visa card and you get $30 off the purchase (at bottom of page). I love my Amazon rewards card. It's issued by Chase and they were lovely when I had the fraud purchase last week. They sent out the new card by overnight shipping so I had it next day. I earn points for every purchase and those points can be used to pay for further purchases. Those points pay for my Prime membership.
