I sold a tie there to an Australian buyer- mailed it Nov 3 within 24 hours of purchase. It hadn't arrived so after contacting me last week (I suggested it just needed more time) he opened an INR tonight asking for a refund. He claims that Royal Post said they never received the package. Well, I went onto USPS site, cut & pasted the 1st class international tracking number which shows as having arrived in Sydney on the 7th, after 2 days in transit. So obviously someone's wrong about it not being received. I sent the message thru Etsy & the open case console so the screenshot proving its arrival in Sydney is visible to them and the buyer.
This is my 1st INR or any dispute on Etsy. Is there an appeal process or am I just screwed? TG there are no defects to worry about but if I have to refund I'm out $25 for the tie and another $10 for shipping. I may go to US only after this. Dang!

Hmm, all of those options it gives me for proving I shipped are electronic. I shipped thru Etsy, they generated my customs form/mailing label, tracking number etc. I literally have NO physical proof of anything. The buyer replied this morning that his PO service said, "To enable enquiries to commence into this matter we require the sender to log an investigation via their local postal authority who will liaise with Australia Post throughout to find out what has happened. I can understand this may be inconvenient, however the sender needs to launch this investigation as they have access to all the relevant paperwork, lodgement documents and information needed to ensure the most thorough search takes place.rcel."
Lodgment documents? OMG, I think I'm in trouble. Fingers crossed that when I go to the post office later today I'll get some good news.

Well, they passed the buck- said I'd need to open an inquiry online. Tried to do that but got a "NOT eligible for an inquiry" message. So f-it, I'm moving on. Refunded the buyer and will call USPS after tomorrow to see why they can't/won't help me. But as soon as I pressed send on the refund, my phone did the scratchy Etsy cha-ching... made my money back and then some. Guess it's all good. Still considering whether international is worth the risk tho.

There's a record of all of your Etsy purchased labels under: > Orders > Shipping labels > Purchased Labels. If you hover over the label type (first column) it will give you the tracking number, including international. Did that show anything?
