I didn't see anyone post about this yet
I tried to sell an item tonight and on it's front page.
"Shop Hers is joining Tradesy
We'd like you to be a part of Tradesy, too! Join now to shop millions of designer deals & keep 91% of every item you sell. "
Here is the link to the story!

Shop-Hers has been so dead for me ever since they did that major purge of brands, so this doesn't upset me too much.
At the Shop-Hers site, it says that you can link your Tradesy account to your Shop-Hers account. I followed the clicking instructions and logged into Tradesy, but don't see any kind of confirmation that the accounts were linked, so I'm not sure what's going on there.
More power to them if this means they'll be stronger competition for Ebay.

Shophers had died for me too. I had a good run there for a while. I love the idea of Tradesy and love they can import my listings. What I dislike is my listings never stick. I'll notify Hunter, the rep I'm assigned, he'll do another upload. They are all there for a few days and then the listings disappear. It's frustrating!

I am not surprised Shop-Hers died. I was surprised it was bought by Tradesy. Though not really because I have said from the start that I think Tradesy is working real hard to put a chunk in the Ebay clothing sales market.

Count me as another one whose ShopHers account has waned into nothingness. I used to get a sale here and there before the purge, but not a one since then. I like Tradesy, though it's been slow there for me too. And I too have trouble uploading pictures there, so I always put listing there on the back burner. Probably why it's so slow there for me.
I hope this merge or buy-out or what ever they're calling it strengthens Tradesy. Like Terri said - more competition for eBay.

"Questions you may have:
Why? For the past three years, both Tradesy and Shop Hers have been working tirelessly to create the very best destination for buying and selling women's fashion. When we met, we realized that by combining efforts, we could create the ultimate service for our customers that much faster.
What does this mean for Shop Hers The Shop Hers website and iOS app will be shut down and re-directed to Tradesy.com on January 1, 2016. To make this transition easier for our members we're offering a discount on your first purchase when you connect your Shop Hers account to Tradesy today.
What happens to my Shop Hers store credit? Once you have joined Tradesy or linked your Shop Hers account with an existing Tradesy account, your Shop Hers store credit will automatically transfer to Tradesy.
Can I continue to sell on Shop Hers? Shoppers can still purchase items that are already in your Shop Hers closet. However, you will no longer be able to list new items on Shop Hers. We recommend you begin listing on Tradesy ❭ If you are an international seller, we will contact you when Tradesy begins to allow listings outside the US."
email came with a $50 coupon to shop on Tradesy

I've had some really good sales on Tradesy. My only gripes are that you can't write your own titles (you have to play around with the listing to get the right keywords to show) and the sometimes-glitchy photo uploader. Other than that, it's pretty easy to use.

ShopHers did it to themselves when they did the brand purge. They pissed off sellers and targeted a very fickle buyer demographic.
On the title issue for Tradesy - I wonder if Tradesy sets titles based on how Tradesy buyers search?

I would love to sell only on Tradsey but I don't have the brands they seem to want. I had some good sales over there. I had to cancel one and I haven't had a sale since. I think it's been about 2 months.
I got the email. I never sold at Shop Hers. I wonder if Tradsey will restrict some of the brands they allow?

I was thinking well at least I can list on there for the rest of the year...so much for that! Tradesy is just ticking me off lately. I like how it says something on there about how we should be happy because Tradesy takes less commission. What a joke that is with sales being so slow on there ever since they let all the large Ebay sellers transfer their millions of listings to the site in just a click of a button. I'm not talking about you guys on here that got to do that (I'm happy for you guys) but I mean BHFO and the like. My sales on there have gone from a couple sales a day most days to now about 1 a week. I am really going to miss Shop-hers.

And I just now sold something on Shop-hers so I wonder if I will get charged tradesy commission or shop-hers commission?

This is really too bad. I get the occasional sale from there. I don't see why Tradesy would want to buy Shop Hers. Most of the stuff is probably double-listed already; mine sure is. Make sure if you have sales on Shop Hers to stay on them to transfer your money. I had an issue with that.

I agree with Val - I quit Shop-Hers after the brand purge - to me they acted in bad faith in not warning people that they were going to take down those listings. At least I never got a warning, and a bunch of my hard work disappeared. I quit Shop-Hers and had no intention of dealing with them again.
Tradesy is dead slow and it's all about pushing the same old designer-y stuff that everyone has. Still, I'm putting stuff on there just to see what happens - I've had two sales in months. Letting the huge ebay sellers on there has swamped us little sellers, yes - the 'closets' that the site was set up for to begin with! They have improved their titles a bit - they used to be awful (or awfuller). They need to change their size structure (and include 4X) and quit organizing everything around brands - their 'other' category is going to start including all kinds of things people might want (though at least it *seems* that the search is better).

One more thing they should change is allow the seller to put best offers on their listings. People love making deals!

Yet the thing I like best about Tradesy is NO BEST OFFERS - to me that's one of the things driving us to the bottom on eBay and producing an ever more bucksnuggling, demanding buyer. Even then, I had someone try to give me half price on something on Tradesy - she sold the same brand and of course was angling to flip it.
I tried to like best offer and have used it a bit, I can see its usefulness, but after seeing the effect it has had on ebay, I hope they just don't. It's getting so that pricing is 'just a suggestion' and we'll take anything. If they just stuck to best offer sellers, OK, but they don't, they pester everybody else with it.

I'm with chap about the offers. I hope they never start with that on Tradesy. Over the past year or so, it started being the default on Shop-Hers listings. I hate playing those games of pricing it higher just so you can make a deal. Just buy my stuff already.

Good points taken, and I really hate dealing with low ballers too.
That being said it does work for some people. I see it working on super high end sellers. One example is VIP Consignment's listings, they all with it.

I bet Tradesy went downhill after the great brand purge. My best seller there was Nanette Lepore that they happily got rid of. Serves them right. I LOVE Tradesy, I really do. yes, it's slow. I sell an average of one item every other day or so. Even though it's super slow it does add up. I view Tradesy as my piggy bank - I kept all of my earning there and only withdrew recently. Now I am happy owner of a very, very hefty amount

Is there an "approved" list of brands on Tradesy?

Nope - they've let me list loads of any brands, including some not even sold in the US. It goes into the 'other' category. Every once in a while, though, they have a campaign to shop in the 'other' category. I'm listing all of my summer on there just to park it somewhere and maybe I'll sell something.
@catcookielover - yes, that's where I see Best Offer working - on really high end stuff, kind of like a reverse auction. Also on very difficult to price items, again kind of a reverse auction. But it's being used on *everything* - I've seen sellers use best offer on items that are $2.95 and some bucksnuggler worked them down to $2! Seriously - all of this seller's listings were pitifully low and they weren't a new seller. We can point the finger at ourselves at least in part for the race to the bottom. It's tempting to buy all of that stuff to flip, but (1) What kind of stuff is priced that cheaply and (2) At the rate things are going, I might end up just donating it because I'll never get more for it. But I sure get people saying "I got this coat new with free shipping for $15, I'll give you $12 for yours."
ETA: Dunno, maybe I'm railing against an inevitability in the clothing sector on eBay - too many sellers, too much stuff, too few buyers, dealing with 'fast fashion' and a desperate retail sector practically giving away their merchandise, all on a public who now expects to pay next to nothing. I sure pick up less and less for resale anymore, and am choosy about consignments. Of course, I've always been a failure at B&B so I'll take the blame for that part of it.
I've been on the thinking bench with Jeremy lol.

I've had a few offers on Tradesy, none of them lowballers (thankfully). I honestly don't mind when people make offers, so long as they're not outrageously low. Like catcookielover said up there, people love making deals.

I used to not mind because it was here and there, but it's almost getting to be a default expectation. That's what bothers me.
