Got this Men's Brooks Brothers 100% Cashmere Made in Scotland sweater today. It has the plastic extra thread bag and some store tag which has several markdowns. I'm thinking someone is going to look at all the markdowns and think there must be something wrong with it. Especially now that the person who bought it, didn't even want it. Would you remove and just leave the extra thread bag? Thoughts. TIA

If it's just a white tag like that, I'd remove it. If it were a Nordstrom tag or something, I'd probably keep a piece of it attached just so the buyer can see that it's a retail store tag, and not a garage sale/TS tag.

I'd take the tag off.

That same white tag is used at my church thrift store. I would take it off.

Stuff like that, I remove the white tag leave the thread (or button) bag, list it as NWOT, and state "new without tags, thread bag attached, no signs of wear".

Are you sure it's new? Or did the store tack the thread bag on? I if I have the extra button bags etc around I always tack them on before I send something off to donate or sell. Doesn't really look like it's the original placement but it might be. Usually they are under the arm.

Peek - when you say they are under the arm is that where Brooks Brothers places them? I don't know that I've ever seen a thread bag under the arm, or maybe I just don't remember. I'm clueless half the time, well maybe more than half the time. I can't for sure say it's new. I don't think the GW tacked either on, but who knows what happened before it got there.
Thanks for all the replies. Removing it, was kind of what I was thinking.

I would cut the tag under the style number, list it as new with tag and inside "price portion removed".

I would also remove the tag and go with "NWOT, original thread bag attatched".

From looking at listing for NWT ones it looks like they use a single long clear barb for the bag and the tag. Yes several of the NWT sweaters I've bought have had the baggies attached under the arm but looks like BB uses the neck tag so that location is right. To me the barb doesn't look like theirs it looks like the short ones I have in my office and all of my new ones had paper envelopes with the thread or buttons in them not the clear bags but I've never had the for Jeffreys one so it probably doesn't matter much.
I always err on the side of caution and would list it as used but I think I'm in the minority there. Love the color, would be cute for easter.
