Is there a way to safely ship an expensive item to Canada? I have a potential buyer from Quebec who is interested in a handbag I am selling on Bonanza. Is there a way to send it insured with tracking so I am covered if she says she didn't get it?
Years ago I sold a wallet to someone in Canada from my eBay account. She said she never got it and I had no way to prove delivery so I had to refund her. That was the last time I shipped to Canada, so I am a bit gun-shy.

Priority Mail, use the insurance option. I generally select USPS on the drop down for insurance even though it is slightly higher than Shipsaver.

Thanks Clean. Does it provide tracking? Have you had any issues with Canada?

I just started adding international back to my listings. I had a skirt sell tonight for $49.99 plus first class shipping. My ShipSaver app is set to insure all international first class over $25. That skirt cost me $10 to insure!! What happened? The last time I insured something first class, I don't think it was more than $3. Did I do something wrong or has it gone up that much?

Are you looking in your Paypal account? I think they draft $10 and then deduct as needed from your account. International should be $1 and domestic .79.

I think you're probably right though since this is the first time I've used it in a long time. Thanks, that makes me feel better!

Thanks Clean. Does it provide tracking? Have you had any issues with Canada? Rarely have I had any issues with Canada in general. Apart from a postal delay at one point a few years back that effected many packages, it is a simple place to ship to and its fast. Even using UPS to ship heavier parcels to Canada for a rate lower than the transfer agent fee (UPS collects this brokerage fee) & postage combined and offering that choice, I never had a complaint. I know many advise against it, but wit large, heavy parcels it used to be much cheaper despite the fee. I haven't used it in a while and heard the rates skyrocketed with UPS so it may not be a great offering now. USPS Priority does have tracking/DC and comes with some insurance the same as within the US (depending on your PS level I believe) either $50 or $100. 1st Class also has a scan sort of tracking and is just as quick or 1 day slower than Priority, however, the insurance is not available through USPS and you would use Shipsaver in the drop down instead. Its just personal preference, but I don't care for using Shipsaver much. There are just to many exemptions and they require too much buyer cooperation for a claim. USPS will not sell you insurance to a place they don't cover KWIM. And the claim is one sided with no participation necessary from the buyer for loss, and minimal participation for breakages. As long as I can cover my ass, there really isn't a place a won't ship to that I'm legally allowed to.
