I'm considering starting to ship international, starting with Canada, Australia, and Japan. I don't want to use GSP. I've only shipped to Great Britain once before and took the package to PO to buy the postage and they helped me with the customs forms.
My questions:
1. If I print the labels through Ebay or Paypal, do the customs forms come up with the postage label, or do I need to do something separately?
2. Do the customs labels need some sort of "pouch" as someone once told me?
3. I mostly sell jeans that weigh 2 to 3 pounds. What would be the best way to go with those...1st class international or PM?
4. Is there tracking on either of these shipping methods?
5. Any one have problems with these countries?
6. Can I pick and choose which items I want to ship internationally?
7. I would have to change my Paypal settings to accept non-US PayPal payments too, right?
8. Any other settings I would need to change?
As you can tell, I like to have all my ducks in a row before I jump into something. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know. I use the free stamps.com for ebay sellers and the customs form is built into the label. I think ebay labels does that too, but I'm not positive.
2. Do the customs labels need some sort of "pouch" as someone once told me?
If you print the customs forms separately they have to go into a pouch. You can order the pouches for free from usps.com
3. I mostly sell jeans that weigh 2 to 3 pounds. What would be the best way to go with those...1st class international or PM?
Anything under 4lbs -> 1st class int.
4. Is there tracking on either of these shipping methods?
Should be for canada and australia although sometimes the tracking stops when the item crosses the border. Have no experience shipping to Japan.
5. Any one have problems with these countries?
Canada and Australia have good postal services. I imagine Japan is fine as well. Also the northern European countries - Norway, etc all seem to.
6. Can I pick and choose which items I want to ship internationally?
Yes
7. I would have to change my Paypal settings to accept non-US PayPal payments too, right?
If there's a setting and you have it turned off, yes.
8. Any other settings I would need to change?
Not that I can think of.

Yes, the customs form and postage is done all at the same time. 2. No, if you use 1/2 sheet labels they print on those just fine and stick to the package. The customs forms you get from the post office are also sticky and just adhere to the package. If you print them online through other means, I don't know about a pouch. 3. Depends on cost and what your buyer wants to pay for. 4. Yes, there is, depending on the country. 5. Not the countries you've listed. 6. Yes, you do that in the listing itself. 7. Yes, otherwise they can't pay you. Also remember that international payments are 3.9% + 30 cents. 8. Not that I can remember.

2. The pouch thingie is required when you ship priority or express cause they have multiple copies of the forms; the pouch keeps all the forms together.
7. Been so long that I'm not sure I remember correctly and have no idea where to look for it but I know I set it up to only accept payments in US dollars. Waybackwhen if you did that, the buyer paid the conversion cost and not the seller.
