I was unpacking some fall items and noticed that a decorative Pottery Barn pillow had little round fade marks from where the bubble wrap on a breakable item had be laid on it. Since these are personal items it's not a disaster.
BUT
I package my items as soon as I list them. Most are wrapped with tissue then plastic or bubble wrap & now I'm concerned that bubble wrap could suck the color out of an item through the tissue paper.
Has anyone else had experience with this?

I've heard other people say they don't let bubble wrap contact their items, especially glass, because it can leave marks. My guess is this is caused by residues left by plasticizers in the bubble wrap. It probably varies depending on the quality of the bubble wrap. Personally, I like to bag or shrink wrap most of my items in case they get dropped in a puddle or left in the rain. Bagging them or using more than a few layers of tissue before bubble wrapping would probably be sufficient to prevent any issues. You could also try a different source of bubble wrap.
