I was just reading about this on the other board.
The poster knew of Vince Camuto, Lafayette 148, Hugo Boss, Franco Sarto, and Cole Haan. There may be more.
It seems they ended all the listings of those brands without notifying us. (Although it's possible that an email went out since I don't open all their emails)
Just a heads up.
There also appears to be an unrelated search issue - where some listed items are not coming up in search results. I have emailed them and will post about that when I get a response.

I just tried to list a St John and got this message:
Sorry... We don't accept "St. John". Shop Hers is a luxury brand marketplace.
When I search for "St John" I get a bunch of results, but they all have "Neiman Marcus" in the title. I guess those sellers found a workaround?

I'm glad I read this thread. I was thinking about sending some items I haven't listed elsewhere.
All the different sites confuse me. ha

If it is not a St. John for Neiman Marcus they are abusing the system, which means Neiman Marcus will be one of those brands that will soon be deleted from the site. They already deleted the "vintage" category because people were selling their Coach items there.

Wow they are just tossing brands in to get things listed and then putting the real brand in the listing. That's crazy. The site should be shutting them down, it's pretty easy to find them. Especially since it holds the guarantee on the item, you'd think they'd keep a closer eye on what is really being sold.
I have a couple of things I think I'll try over there.

I actually sent them an email today about the Neiman Marcus/St. John thing. Told them that I had several St. John items I'd like to list and noted that, while St. John isn't on their brand list, a search found multiple St. John items listed under Neiman Marcus, despite having label photos without Neiman Marcus on them.
This is the response I received:
Hi Terri,
Thank you for your inquiry!
Unfortunately St. John is not a brand we currently accept as it is not a brand users come to the site looking for. We are constantly changing our brands list to ensure we are giving our users what they come to the site looking for.
We are aware that users have found ways around this and do what we can to monitor it, but sometimes they get away with it!
Thanks for letting us know!
Best, Monica

I have a few SJ I'd like to list but I guess I'll stick to Ebay for them. I noticed on a target Missoni was snuck in under the main Missoni heading. Was wondering if the target items were making their way into the site.
Also I assume Michael Michael Kors is a lower end brand than the Micheal Kors they allow or is it the same because most of what I'm seeing is the Michael Michael Kors and I passed up a few nice ones today thinking that was the wrong one.

They don't really specify one way or the other, as to whether "For Target" or "For Anthro" etc. are allowed or not, so sellers can't really be expected to know, especially if they're just selling stuff out of their own closet and aren't really familiar with all the lines. They need to be more specific.
I have a Marimekko for Anthro listed there, I think that's the only questionable one.

Maybe I'll try a few then. I should have picked up the Michael Kors ones I saw from the looks of it they sell high on there too (if the ones listed sell). Next time I'll know, Thanks
I have a few for target ones I might try.

They specifically told me to put "for (whatever collab)" in the description, and they also told me specifically no coach, no St. John, no Tse. But they don't want Simply Vera under Vera Wang.

So as long as it's a *accepted brand* made for XX store it's ok? Thanks for the clarification. I did pass up a lot of princess Vera and Simply Vera Wang, figured that isnt' what they wanted.

Just remember though, the more collab stuff we list, the harder it's going to be for buyers to find our non-collab stuff. We all know how it is on ebay so it could end up biting us in the long run.

I'm not sure if their search works that way, I've never tried. I do know that the title is not created by the seller, you choose a brand and item type from menus and it will automatically title it "Kate Spade Skirt".
Any other wording such as Target would be in the description, not in the title.

It looks like you can't use a minus sign to exclude search terms (I tried Proenza Target and Proenza -Target but got the same yellow blouse in both searches). A bunch of the Missoni items don't mention Target in the description, it's clearly visible in the photos but there's no way to filter those out of your search. I do know that the title is not created by the seller, you choose a brand and item type from menus and it will automatically title it "Kate Spade Skirt". Ah, that explains why a search for "Zegna" brings up a bunch of neckties with the title "Saks Fifth Avenue Scarf/Wrap" shop-hers.com/goods/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&s=zegna

That sucks. They should have at least notified you when they took down the listing.

There's a HUGE difference between telling a prospective seller,
"Sorry... We don't accept "St. John". Shop Hers is a luxury brand marketplace.'
And saying,
"Unfortunately St. John is not a brand we currently accept as it is not a brand users come to the site looking for. We are constantly changing our brands list to ensure we are giving our users what they come to the site looking for."
The first reply makes the site management sound incredibily stupid. If they don't want a brand because it's not a searched or requested by site buyers, just say so. It's not rocket science, and will piss off sellers a lot less.
