Just a FYI. Next weekend is a 3 or 4 day weekend for alot people. Plus this year it is also Valentine's Day weekend. February is usually not a good month for me but last year President's Day weekend pulled me out of a slump. (Please feel free to move this if I posted it in the wrong place)

I just got an email from Savers touting a 30% off clothes sale for "Valentines" on 2/9. I hope this doesn't mean that they aren't having their annual Prez Day sale the next Monday. I'll be royally pissed.

I just checked and I got it too. And it's only for womens clothing. 30% is no big deal, you can get that any Wed with the Sr discount and for any item in the store. I hope they aren't going to do away with the Pres day sale this year. I was hoping to actually be able to get out and do some shopping for that one.

I'll be royally pissed. I was at a Savers last Saturday and was told about the 30% off on the 9th. She said that they'd also still be doing the 50% of President's Day pre-sale and sale.

Thanks Terri, I hope they are doing it at all the stores. I haven't shopped in ages and really want to get back out there.

Shirley, aren't you too young for senior day? The other day, a cashier compared me to his grandmother, because I liked garage sales. Felt old with that comment.
I'm not going to anymore of Saver's 50% sale, too many crazy, rude shoppers.

Not me. Their senior age is 55 and I coasted down that hill quite awhile ago. I hit the big 6 0 this year. I do like that they ask "are you eligible for any discounts today?" instead of just saying "senior discount?". For a second you can believe that you don't look your age. I don't go to the sales on the sale day, I have a Savers card so I go to the pre-sale the day before and get the same sale prices but have less of a crowd to deal with. I'm walking much more stable now so I hope I can get to the Presidents sale. I'm having thrift withdrawal and need to get a fix. Even though I have bins and racks full of stuff I need more, more more.

I"d love to make a road trip to savers for their sale but that's not going to happen this year. I'll have to live vicariously through you guys. Hope you get lots of goodies. Don't think the thrift around here have any kind of sales.

That's one of the things I really like about Savers, if you plan your trips you can always get some kind of discount. Wednesdays are Sr discount 30% off, and also military and student discount 20% off. If you make a donation you get a coupon for 20% off. At the end of each week one color of tag goes to 50% off, then on Monday it goes to 99 cents. Then there are the various holiday sales with 30-50% off. And if you have a Savers membership card (free) you can shop most of the sales the day before and still get the sale price without dealing with as big of a crowd. I like being able to be thrifty while thrifting.

I'm not going to anymore of Saver's 50% sale, too many crazy, rude shoppers. Not if you have the Club Card and go on Sunday. Busy but calmer. I'm amazed at the number of people who still won't get the card and wait until Monday to shop. I much prefer the pre-sale on Sunday. I'm hoping to go to PHX but I may have to sratch that and stay here. UGh. OTOH, if I'd get off my azz today and go take pics and list some stuff, I might have money by the weekend. Funny how that works.

Thinking of running a 3 day MM of 25% off anything red or pink in the store. Anyone else?

I probably will. I have been for the last few weekends. Last weekend was not so great but the one before that was good.
Clean, it's President's Day too so shouldn't it be red, white and blue? Haha

Nah. Valentine's and Prez Day, same weekend? Valentine's trumps Prez Day.

Good Morning, I've been MIA. Lots going on. Shirley, you are younger than me. You're just a kid. I'll be 62 this year.
This week on 2 different occasions I've been compared to someone's grandmother.
Friday, we bought a new car. I left a cd in the one I traded in. Called the dealership, and our salesman made a joke about some of the music I listened to - 70's and 80's.
And been busy with the dentist, and the "free" auctions.
Hey, if I hit the lottery, I'll be donating my inventory to the thrift store. Ah, what a dream.

In the last few months, Savers has $2 Tuesdays. The previous week tags 50% off are $2. And the new manager is too cool, he has everything in the jewelry and collectables case sitting on the top of the case, so you don't have to bother anyone to see it. VTG Singer sewing machine this week for $2.
Jean, there is lots of changes at Power Road Savers, a bit of gossip re: old managers.
I have a bin full of 70's cassettes that I wouldn't trade for anything. It would help if I had a cassette player, LOL!

We don't have $2 tuesdays at our Savers (NM). They give us 99-cent Mondays instead. But you have to get there earlier in the day to get anything, most of the time. This time of year, though, they've marked prices so high that even on Monday evening there is still some 99-cent stuff left.

Welcome back! You can count me in on the "over 50" club...who still LOVES 70's (some 80's) R&R. Before my first child was even born, I had a Dr. Spock-oriented aunt who worried my child would be "psychologically damaged" from my choice of music! LMAO Nope, big band and crooners were never my style! The neatest part is, my eldest is 40+ and loves 70's music because that was what she was exposed to early on. Her younger siblings couldn't care less... As for looking grandmotherly, I resemble my maternal grandmother enough these days that it almost scares me because in public young'uns are now calling me "sweetie." Ugh. OTOH, I have a 67-yr old BFF who barely passes for 50 at first glance. Another UGH.
