I just started using this program a few days ago and tonight I've got a major headache with it. Took a bunch (120+) pics today and cropped them all to my satisfaction. The changes show up fine within Picasa, but within their respective folder, nothing has changed! WHY not?? This issue is seriously impeding my plans for listing... and I could not find an answer within the Picasa forum. TIA for any help/advice!

B/C the originals don't get changed & aren't supposed to. Picasa keeps track of your changes. So you can always revert to your original. I don't have time to search, but if you google, Picasa has great forums. Here's an article not in their forums that may help.
You have to save, export them & size them to use them. You don't have to size them if they aren't huge to begin with (camera settings), but most people's are, so I size during the export. The default export folder is organized by date, which works fine for me.

ETA: you may be able to save & use that way w/o exporting, I can't remember, since I always export for file size changes. You'll have to try it & see.

Your welcome! Picasa is not perfect, but I find it better than most of the alternatives. There's a lot to like. What is not so easy in it is circling a flaw :-(

What is not so easy in it is circling a flaw :-( I do my circling/arrows in Windows Paint... My SIL gave me a Paint Shop program, but have been waiting to put it on Windows 7, that is still in a BOX. Thus far, I like Picasa. I was able to locate some 'lost' unsold's using it.

Picasa is my only source of photo editing. Glad you were able to solve the problem. Once you get the hang of it, it's super easy! I can edit photos like a crazy mad woman there now

Not sure if this is what you mean, but with your use of the word "there", are you saying you use Picasaweb? If so, does it have a more robust editor?
I only use local Picasa on my machine, as they've changed Picasaweb & it's vendor in the past. You don't have to use the web product at all if you don't want to share photos or use the fancy editor, etc. I never use it. The web part was really slow on my machine & changing of the vendors for the editor drove me nuts.
OTOH, you have just said "there" not been referring to the web version at all LOL.
Enquiring minds want to know what the advantages are to the web product if you aren't looking to "share" photos or anything like that.

I don't use the web version. I do all my photo editing/saving there (there being on my Picasa downloaded "app".
