And Office Depot recently purchased Office Max.
That makes me happy since I love my Staples store, especially since they now take my USPS packages.

So there will only be 1 massive company where there were 3 large ones? I seem to vaguely recall some fuss in the 1990s about blocking giant monopolies. Now our grocery stores look like this:

I like both stores okay, as long as they have my printer ink, I'm happy. The only thing that bugs me about Staples is that they close early every night, I think 7:00. It's annoying when you make the effort to go and they're closed especially when all of the stores around them are open.
Radio Shack isn't doing good and I don't think anyone is going to step in and save them. My just out of high school brother works at one right across the street from their house. Hopefully it will stay open for a while.

Our newspaper stated that Staples knows that it has to compete with lower internet prices...so that will help. Our Office Depot seldom had any customers. Their prices were always higher.

Hopefully it will stay open for a while. They just filed for bankruptcy today. I remember back in the day getting a Tandy computer from them.
