I go to take my dog out and this is at my door yelling. My dog almost ate it before I could get the door shut. No houses close enough it could have walked from I don't think. It literally smells like Kitten chow like it was just fed. Is use to being inside, follows you around like a dog. Had to be just dumped. Shelter won't take it they are full. No idea what I am going to do with it. For tonight it's on the storm shelter safe.

Sorry if that pic is huge can't tell on my phone. That should say he's in the storm shelter.

No I can't keep him my dog will eat him, literally. I'm also allergic to cats, spent last night with hives all over my face and an eye swollen closed. Going out to check on him now, then try to figure out where to take him. He sure is adorable though.I'd be tempted to sort out the allergies if it wasn't for the dog. That's a definite no

Awww so cute. I hope you can find him a home!
Your house must have a neon sign that says motel to these critters! LOL

I know, I don't know what it is about my house that attracts them it's crazy. I walked out on my door one day years ago to find a momma cat having a litter of kittens on my deck. It's like Hello? LOL
Dh the guy who supposedly hates cat is like he sure is adorable, did you see the way he chases dd around the yard and crawls up her leg. I'm like really? No way to keep a cat inside with the dog, it's her house and when I say she'd eat it, I mean she would kill it just like she does the rabbits that get in her yard, not she'd grumble at it. I won't have an outside pet since we live on the highway, it would be killed in a matter of days so that's not an option. There's no way it can safely stay here. We've have 2 kitties dead on the road in the last few days right by our house don't want to see this one end up that way.
I don't want it to have to spend another night alone down in the storm shelter it needs to be in someones house it's so lonely in there. Gotta do something pretty quick the guilt is gonna kill me.

Endless fb posts and phone calls no one will take it. The shelter here says they have a six month wait. I swear it's the biggest racket going. Not one person I know has ever had them take a dog or cat since the day they opened 10+ years ago. They constantly solicit donations and basically only take what the police make them take that they bring in and drop off. At this point it's looking like I'm just going to have to go to the store and give it away after the kids get out of school. I hate doing that because you never know who it's going to. But it's better than it being locked up in a storm shelter here because of my dog. There is no way I can keep them both and the dog is not going anywhere so the kitten has to go.

But it's so little! And it's yellow! And it's frowning with worry!
I bet you could keep it, if you kept it away from the dog until it's bigger, and let the dog see that it's your friend.

I would if I thought she'd ever let it in the house but she has too high of a prey drive. I won't even let her around little kids to be on the safe side. Not her fault just the way she is. The fact the kitty makes high pitch noises makes it far more tempting. I'm sure we can find someone with kids to take him (pretty sure it's a him after taking a refresher course online on kitty id'ing LOL) with some kids to play with him at the store.

Oh DD updated to FB that she might have found someone at school to take it. Hopefully she gets a break between classes to update if I need to bring it up with me or not. Fingers crossed he has a home

No luck yet, think they are trying to convince their parents. Spent almost an hour letting him chase a big piece of grass while I wiggled it around. This things wearing me out. Told dh it's like having another kid LOL Never had a kitten that was this attached to people. Ours always liked to be held and cuddled then they'd go to sleep or go do kitty things. This one wants to be held or played with every second, doesn't want to get more than an inch away from a person, will let you do whatever you want to it as long as it's with you. Hope whoever takes it makes it a house cat, he would be miserable being an outdoor cat.

No idea what the rescue group situation is like in your area - we have a ton and I've found that most don't call you back the first time you leave a message or call to tell you they're full, but if you go back around and call the ones who didn't respond the first time they're more receptive - I think they're hoping you find something else, but when you've made the effort and are still coming up empty they'll help. Also maybe put up a flyer or something at vets' offices or see if they have adoption cages in their lobbies or know of fosters - at least you know you're getting animal people and not some random weirdo who wants a free cat for things you don't want to think about. Can the kitty stay in a bathroom or something rather than the storm shelter? I know cats see in the dark, but I hate to think of him down there all alone. He's very young and probably wasn't weaned yet which is why he's so eager to attach to a human. Poor cute baby. Thanks for helping him.

Kitty has a home, a friend of DD's took it. We had to wait for his Mom to get off work and take him over for her to see first. But he showed her the pic DD sent him and by the time we got there they had already been in the store and stocked on kitty supplies. She tried to hold out and say that's the last thing he needs, another pet. But then she scratched the kitty on the head and that was all it took, she melted. He's going to be an inside cat and spoiled rotten I'm sure.
Now I can sleep without guilt tonight. Hopefully I am stray free for at least a while, can't keep going through this stress LOL

Just a little kitty update. He's settling in his new home nicely. His new owner loves him bunches already. Seems to be a perfect match.awww I on the other hand have another night of hives head to waist. With a swollen face and wheezing. Took two different allergy meds and going to bed, while dh sleeps as far over as he can because apparently I'm a bit scary looking tonight sigh, no good deed.....lol

Yay on the kitty's new home!
Bummer on the hives, though.
And I think you did the right thing by the dog. Friend of mine had a dog that chased her cat. She tried to get the dog to make friends but the dog finally ended up killing the cat. She surrendered the dog. I think maybe they have to get used to cats as puppies, or just be laid back in general for it to work. Her other dog loves the cat (and the one that died), he's best buds with the cat.

I'm so glad you found a good home for the kitty! And hopefully your hives will disappear quickly, and your act of kindness will come back to you ten-fold.

Dog is nice and happy again, the house is once again all hers. I'm still itchy but look fairly normal. Just a few red patches left, eyes are still running and a little swelling. Not too bad. Thought I was going to have to go in for a steroid shot but think it will finish clearing on it's own. Probably wouldn't have gotten that bad but it kept attacking my face yesterday. It would sit on my chest and I guess the wind was blowing my bangs so it would pounce and belly plant across my face and then just lay there, I'd peel it off and it would pounce again. Big goof.
