I had no luck there before, but am trying again with some Issey Miyaki and am going to build bigger - I was a part-time seller then and now I'm full-time, so I have time to start on another site. Seems OK so far. I've read through a bunch of threads here and seems like the photo uploading has been fixed. I chose the same user ID I have for eBay which is what I use for Etsy - I need to keep a consistent presence since I'm pretty darned small, and also I can use the same logo lol.
Also the fact that they notify you when a sale comes in to see if it's still available is handy. I'm not going to sync anything but I will double list. I'm tired of my higher end stuff being ignored on eBay and it's no big deal listing on both sites.
How are people doing on there these days? The thread that GreyBear started ended in June so I'm wondering how it has been since then. ShopHers really put me off when they axed a bunch of listings, and I hardly have anything they'll accept anyway (except for the Issey, but there are only so many sites I'm going to keep track of competently, or even incompetently).
ETA: OK, I have a whole five items up there now - woot! I'll add some every day.

I'm pretty happy with them. I've had a total of 5 sales there, with 24 active listings right now. I double list stuff as well (rather than syncing). Basically I just copy the info from my Ebay listings, but make a few tweaks to get the title fu ironed out. That's my only gripe with Tradesy (I've vented about this before) - if the designer isn't in their database they list it as OTHER. This could be an issue for you, since you seem to sell a lot of smaller/artisan labels.

Yes, I've had to finagle with titles by using the drop down boxes. Ridiculous! I actually do better with my oddball non-branded stuff on eBay - it's stuff like Miyake, Blanque etc., that gets ignored - it seems these days anything expensive. If I search on "blanque" for instance, though, up comes a selection of Blanque items.
ETA: I figure it can't hurt double listing. More eyes.
Oh man, this is even worse than ever - at least I was able to finagle my listings when I first put them up and managed with Blanque, but now they just come up as nonsense in the title - it won't even show a colour. My Purple Jail Dornach peacoat is just "Pea Pea coat" - I've written them a note telling them (as probably a billion others have done now) that this is an unacceptable flaw. We should at least be able to put a designer, colour and style in the title even if having a drop-down box would be really impossible. I told them that their buyers are going to be looking for infinitely more labels than their tiny list. My coat is totally unsearchable. No wonder they're not getting the sales they want - my experiments as a buyer are completely constrained. It's like that old site Ruby Lane was in 1999.

Yikes. Their search sucks. I searched for Catherines 1X.
They found me YSL sunglasses, lots of 21 clothing in the full range of plus sizes, Vince Camuto, you name it.
Maybe I'll try a brand search with ", see if I get any better results.

Nope. Using " makes it worse. I did "maggie barnes 2x", which should bring up some items at most any marketplace site with plus sizes. Zilch. However, it IS a very good search term if you're looking for Coach bags.

Ive sold about 300 things on tradesy but ive been on it since mid 2013. I like it, no problems with buyers. I sold more when there were less listings (obviously) sometimes Id get two or three sales a day in mid 2014. Its slowed down considerably. Still nice to get a sale here and there from tradesy.

Val, just put "Maggie Barnes" in the search, then use the Size option on the left side to filter the results. They use 16, 18, etc. instead of 1X, 2X (another gripe!) But that will give you some results.

I like Tradesy so far although I agree about the titles and some of their categories, yeesh. I've sold 10 pieces there since the end of June which is respectable for me since I hold out for a decent price. Interest there seems different from what interests people on eBay somewhat, so that is good. Everything I have is double listed--I'm up to 392 now.

Looks like I'll just be listing common brands until they can fix that stupid title thing - that's an incredible flaw in the system.
Yes, they need to fix their sizing in misses, too, Val, as they have the same thing going. Two really obvious flaws in an otherwise nice website!
Frakin - what differences do you see in interest between eBay and Tradesy? Is Tradesy more mall brand driven (i.e., Ann Taylor, Coach, etc.)? B&B? I'm trying to get a handle on brands and what people want in them - I'm really bad at that.

From what I can see when looking as a buyer at both sites, the Tradesy search seems to focus on mainly brand, assuming buyers are brand driven first. eBay focuses on brand in some categories, but seems to understand that some buyers want brand, others just want a red blouse with long sleeves.

I sold 2 things on Tradesy since starting back up over there. I don't give it the time I do Ebay so I can't expect the same results. I did not sync my Ebay store so I have to do everything manually.
I let them guide the price for most things so it is all over priced for the most part. I sold on Tradesy last year and had much better results with only a handful of listings. I guess they are now overloaded with sellers too.

Chap, I'm selling some of the brands that people just mainly look at in eBay lately and don't buy as readily--Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Ted Baker, Betsey Johnson, Adriano Goldschmied, even J. Crew-- because there seem to be buyers who are willing to pay there since there hasn't been the race to the bottom that you see on eBay. It gives me hope for my languishing DVF too. Granted, I haven't been there long or sold many things so this is a very preliminary intuition I'm getting from sales and "loves". I did sell a belt from Bergdorf Goodman, so no real "brand" there. Mostly my jewelry seems to get more consideration I think. And, wonder of wonder, they run sales of brands and categories (e.g. accessories) where they eat the reduction hit and we get our original price!!!
I'm cautiously pleased because it's doing so much better than Shop Hers did, right off the bat, with the same lack of hassle and buyer drama. My expectations were low too. I agree that the branding, titling and sizing are just so infuriating, and no way to sell my lingerie really.
I don't know how your wonderful unusual pieces will do there, especially now that they've let the infidel in (us professionals) and they have a lot more volume but its worth a try. My business model and inventory are different from yours; I try to buy widely recognizable (and, of late, only higher end) brands and I wait forever to get my price. I also may be engaging in wishful thinking at this point.
They may be more open to suggestions as they embark on this expansion so, if you can think of things that might help you, they may be willing to implement them eventually. For example, I think they (and you) could benefit from a look categorization that they could actively exploit (Lagenlook, Preppy, Bohemian, Wearable Art...) just a limited number of categories that most people would understand and want to explore, rather than just brands. It wouldn't be difficult for them to implement, just another set of tick boxes for a computer sort and it could help them and you stand out.

Exactly - I wrote a suggestion about fixing the titles because they're really hamstringing themselves with this faulty titling system, and although I didn't say this, it's one of the most absurd setups I've ever seen. I did say that this does no service to their buyers or sellers.
I have Chico's (I hope that works there), J. Jill, Madewell and other name brands and I'd be just as willing to list all that stuff over there as anything, and keep my oddballs solely on eBay, though I guess I could double-list the oddballs as well in case someone stumbles into my closet and looks around. But I'll make my main thrust regular brands. I'm very willing to expand more into the brand realm, I'm just not very good at it and have lots to learn. I still go by style first, then brand, but that's a good way to get more familiar. I have a ton of vintage but that' will go on Etsy.

I'm finding now that there is no brand that is a sure thing anywhere and great style is a must. Still have a lot o' pieces from before I figured that out though. I find that learning in this biz is like raising children, once you think you've caught on, everything changes.

Val; I did a search for Maggie Barnes 2x and it said there were over 3,000 results. I did notice it was giving me lots of other brands with Maggie in it. But then I drilled down on the left and chose Maggie Barnes as the designer and it gave me 46 listings.

I just saw this: Personalize your Closet plage to attract more buyers. ETA: And I now have 21 items on my plage. Hope to have more like 50 by week's end. I wonder if people will buy anything? It's all name brands, though they really don't have a bunch of designer stuff that their market would really like - Hanna for le Journee, Blanque, Surrealist, etc.

I had probably 20 or 30 things there for about 5 months. Never got a sale even with low pricing, they eventually all sold on Ebay though so I shut down my Tradesy store. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did.

Chap I have had 22 sales there is about 6 months. I wonder if anyone here still sells on Thredflip. I did for awhile and actually still have things listed but they take around 20% which is outrageous!
I did brand my store on TRadesy and here it is Chap.

Thanks, Roy! I see you have featured items - I need to do that. Also the blocks of text that I c/p from eBay need to be fiddled with - yours is less dense and I think more readable.
Well, it's minimal trouble for me since I have the stuff up on eBay anyway and can just c/p so we'll see - anything that gets me into search engines. I'm so used to selling on a couple of sites that it's nice to have at least some other exposure!
