Has anyone else recently been getting this message in error when you get your PU e-mail confirmation?
Here's the exact wording: This is to confirm a Package Pickup was made, however a discrepancy was reported between total packages picked up and total packages listed in the Package Pickup request. Total Packages picked up does not match total packages requested for pickup.
I've gotten this following my last two PUs, even though the packages picked up were exactly the amount of packages stated in the PU request (I double checked).
Our carrier (it was the regular guy both times) has been stellar up until this point, but if I get this message again after a PU I'm going to have to complain. I don't want it to appear that I'm adding or removing packages at random and giving them an excuse not to pick up from me any more. But I know the PO has some strange glitches, so I'm hoping that's it.
We've had the same carrier for the 8+ years I've been selling, and I have occasionally added a package in the morning. But rarely. And when I do, I listen for him on the porch and go out to ask if it's OK. He's always cheerfully taken it. But I haven't added a package in probably 3-4 months. The PUs in question were definitely 'by the book'.
ETA: Not really private, I know. But I've always gotten better responses here on selling subjects than on other boards.

Thanks so much Denise, I'm so glad it's a glitch. I was worried if it kept happening he'd have an excuse to drop me from PU, although he's never seemed to mind doing it.

That just started recently, so who knows??? I do have a new carrier, TG. She seems fine. Former grumpy guy would actually read the note that I had printed out with the scheduled pick-up, put it back into my box and travel on.
When I called to complain, there were a lot of other complaints about him.

Me too, and I am always right on. I just ignore it. Ditto! The times I got that notice was usually on a Monday, after I'd added early morning sales. I asked the carrier if I should take the extra unconfirmed ones to the P.O., and he said no. But last week I got the 'discrepancy' notice 2x when everything was spot on. It irked me, but hey...when it's the P.O. or eBay, expect the unexpected!

It's been recent for me, too. Just my last 2 PUs, which I think were 3-4 days apart. Last Thursday or Friday and then today. Saturday I used a blue box.
I'm glad to hear other people are complaining, so it's a known issue.

I am wondering if it is because she picks up the bag of packages, puts them into her car and drives on. So she is scanning them later.

I started getting that message recently and I usually do have a discrepancy. If people pay for items after I go to bed and after it's too late to change the pick-up request, I still put them out in the morning so that changes the number of packages. My old mail carrier didn't note the difference, but we have a new postmaster who is going by the book so I thought it was because of her. Now I am wondering if it's just a glitch.

I always get it because I schedule my pick ups for the whole month. I don't think it's an issue.

Yes,I have a note in my mailbox and they sometimes still don't pick them up. My old mail carrier retired several years ago and ever since then things have been tough.My regular guy does what he wants.
He has a hard time delivering regular mail let alone packages. After my neighborhood delivery we are all outside swapping mail because he screws it up all the time.
