So, I stumbled across this bear.....Did a little research....and am now more lost than I was before Does anyone know their teddy bears? Or know of the best place to go to get help? Sorry about the huge pics. I will figure out how to size them later. I have more pics if needed. TIA

He is cute and does look familiar.
Shape is not right for a Steiff. Nose and eyes look like plastic instead of glass so not super old.
I like bears, but the research can be a bitch so I avoid picking them up. Good luck.

Yeah, he's not a Steiff. And I do not believe he was "born" before the 30's. Just thought I'd throw out a long shot and see if anyone knew. He was at the BIN. Two visits in a row. He called to me LOL! Unless it's an 80s or 90s vintage item, I normally don't pick up bears that I know nothing about.

LOL! They can be nasty little devils if you're not careful But this one bought me a drink and told me how beautiful my eyes were.

I need to put some effort into finding a better way to ID some of these vintage/antique animals that I pick up. I used to post over on the eBay Dolls and Bears board, but my last post (a few weeks ago) has gone without any input.
I often find Steiff that is missing the button in the ear, there are other ways to identify them-- like if you look in that listing, the bear has the "Steiff hump" on the back. My point being-- don't leave them behind if they are missing the buttons in the ear.
I found one like that in the bins, but it only went for $200. No button in the ear. I am sitting here with what I believe to be a Steiff Molly dog and a Steiff bunny puppet. I need to be sure before I list them. I wish eBay hadn't made such a mess out of the boards, they used to be a valuable resource.

Yeah, I was going to post over there then saw how inactive it was so just decided to skip it. Last week, I found a collectors forum where there is a section that you can post pics, add a description and ask others on the site to help ID. you post had to get approved, and I haven't heard anything since.
I'm going to just do this one as a blind auction. Just put OLD BROWN TEDDY BEAR in the listing and in the description say "Nice old bear. Needs loving home. Adopt him now. He doesn't take up much room, as he's only XX" tall" and his "adoption" fee will start low at auction.

Is he jointed? You can use keywords like that, or "articulated".
