If there is a more appropriate spot for this thread, please let me know! (listing isn't limited to eBay...or CSA)
Who's busy listing this weekend? I need to get my patootie in gear. I pretty much took the last half of December and the first half of January off. I typed up 30 listings this morning (I got up WAY too early). Taking a quick break, then will get most of them pictured. Leaving the house for the day (Sephora makeup makeover help and a wine/painting benefit)
Hopefully tomorrow morning I will be able to launch those 30 and add another 15-20.
IF YOU DON'T LIST IT, IT WON'T MAKE YOU MONEY!

Alas, I am pretty much at my limit until Sunday when my totals reset. I have plenty of my free (included) listings left, but I can only list like <10 on each of my accounts.

I need to go measure some stuff so I can list it. Guess I'll list while I'm sitting at the dealership waiting on my car.

I am joining you listing. My Dh is going to the Anti-Aging Expo at Cashman Field. I need to buckle down and list. I just finished ironing some pieces and will measure and start listing. I just want to procrastinate.

I've been doing everything possible to avoid listing. But I have cleaned a box of shoes so I can take pics tomorrow, so no more excuses.

I listed 6 and now I am looking for anything else to do except list. I am using as my excuse that I have run out of free listings.

I got 20 up so far today. Tomorrow will be tough because we are football fans so I am trying to get it done today.

I really need to list something but I need to do pictures first. I sort of lost my photo set-up area and haven't found an adequate/ comfortable spot yet.

I won't have light for photos until Monday, but will try to get some measurements and descriptions written up after work tomorrow.

Well, I took the first 2 weeks off in Jan. and had some difficulty getting back to listing last week, but I did kick it up a notch and it's really paying off. My ended listings and turds had brought my store #'s down considerably. I figured I'd give the turds some time off and get some fresh stuff up.
I'm back up to 100+ active listings after selling 12 items this past week. Four of those sales came in on Friday. Plus, I got 2 new sales today totaling $50+...definite woo-hoo's for me!
I also did a reconnaissance run to the TS before closing and found 3 really fab sweaters for a total of $3.50 One is a fine 100% merino wool men's sweater that retails for $85!(it was in the women's dept)
I'm going back this morning to do a "grab & run" on a few items that will be on sale for a pittance. We hadn't shopped for 2 weeks due to my inventory backlog, but the last thing I did buy for "full price" @ $2.50 just sold for $20 + $11 shipping. I could've gotten more, but I've GOT to move this stuff faster.
Lastly, I've got at least 1-2 watchers on more than half my items...if they would just BUY, I'd be in great shape. :-) For that matter, wouldn't WE ALL??

I hear you on the "if they would just buy" thing! My sales have definitely been slow as the 100+ things I have listed--at least half are turds that have been sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting. Brands that Twice and TU probably won't take. I took a peek into Clothes Mentor yesterday and asked about how they buy clothing (brands, typical payout, etc). I think I will be dropping off a bag or two there next weekend. THANK YOU ZOE! I know I was resistant of the idea in another thread, but you've opened my eyes I just posted 10 items this morning, will be uploading pics for another 10 in a bit, then have about 25 more items that need pictures taken. After that, I hope to get an additional 15 done today. SO--my goal is a total of 60 new listings today.

OH NO on losing your pictures! Been there, done that... it really sucks. I was out all day yesterday but am listing today and tomorrow. I tore my eBay room apart last week when looking desperately for a missing sold item; now I've gotta put it back together so I can take pix. Really need to reorganize storage but pix & listing comes first.

How have you all been doing this week? I didn't get much (if any) listed this week. A couple of relists. Today I was able to throw up 16 auctions. I need to do more relists. I put 99% of the stuff in my store on sale also.
List it. Sell it. Wash. Rinse. Repeat!

This past week was shot in terms of putting together new listings. I've been running on relists. I cancelled my plans to thrift today so I could hit the ground running and be ever-so-efficient and list all day. The problem is, it's like spring outside! It is sunny and a glorious 51* here at the Jersey shore and I just want to go out and play!!!!!! It's a CONSPIRACY!!!!

I put up some auctions and FP listings on Ebay, and a couple of things on Etsy. I'm also getting stuff ready to donate ... I really just want to clear out all my inventory right now - get rid of EVERYTHING in the house! Can you tell I've got cabin fever?

I'm off to take pics for an hour or so. I usually take pics every other week, about 2 weeks worth of listings at a time. Last time, I took pics for 2 days and took serveral months worth of pictures, and still have a bunch of that to list. Sounds efficient, right? Ha.
It backfired on me. I'm so tired of looking at that 'old' stuff that I don't want to list it. It didn't occur to me at the time that seeing the 'new' stuff every couple of weeks is fun and gets me back in the mood to list. Who knew?

I decided to take the weekend off because I was starting to get that burnout feeling. But now I am feeling a little antsy and I want to work. (Imagine that!)
I don't think I'm going to list though. I probably will get all my packages ready tonight so I can get an early start on photos/listing tomorrow.

Not listing, but I actually got a lot of pics done today. Considering how slow I move I considered that a big step forward. Now I just need to edit the photos and write the listings. Maybe tomorrow. For now I think I will take a nap.

I am feeling so burnt out too. Overwhelmed. I am feeling like throwing out all of my inventory and starting fresh (NOT a sound business plan, I know). I, too, hate looking at all this "old" stuff.
I swear, I was half tempted to just put all of my stuff at auction for $.99 and let it ride (again, NOT a sound business plan)
It is so nice out here today too. I have an itch to get out of this house, but I know if I go out, I will just want to spend a bunch of money on needless stuff. Plus, I don't feel like taking a shower. How bad is that?
So, to get some fresh air sunshine, I volunteered to go in the back yard and scoop poop. Bleh.
Now, I'm looking at all this "crap" to list and thinking why even bother. But, I did get 3 sales and 3 new bids today--so I have to use that as my motivation to keep pushing!

LIz, when I have stuff that just doesn't motivate me to list it, I put it in totes and pull it out later. Then I pull some current stuff and get it ready instead. I have several totes with a generic, "Asst All Season Tops, w/Pics" (or whatever is appropriate). They come in handy during slow times between seasons. If pics have already been taken, I pull a few items, measure them, and list 'em. Staring at that 'old' or 'what was I thinking' stuff just makes me not want to list, period, which is not good at all.

That's my problem. I'm eyeing 2 totes of old stuff. They're all duds, need stain removal, a button, are too worn, etc. I need to just get rid of that stuff, but UGH!
I have most of my new stuff listed. It's just all the BLAH stuff that is left. But it NEEDS to get listed!

I have most of my new stuff listed. It's just all the BLAH stuff that is left. But it NEEDS to get listed! Real duds, stained, needing repairs - THAT stuff I finally rounded up and donated. I just bit the bullet, stuffed it in bags, and took it to GW and Savers. And I don't allow myself to buy it anymore. No matter how cheap it might be priced. If it's too ugly/dumpy/stained/worn at $4, it's still equally ugly/dumpy/stained/worn at 99-cents or whatever. The only exception I allow myself now is stuff that is missing a button but is otherwise in great condition. And even then, it has to have generic buttons that I can find anywhere, or a top button at the collar that can be moved elsewhere and then disclosed that top button is missing (like foxcroft button shirts, for example). Ya gotta be strict with yourself or you'll buy it again…..

Shopping Addiction, you have really nice stuff in your store!
And I like your mannequin. Do you find maneuvering around the arms to be a time suck? I need to get a new one soon, mine keeps leaning and I'm constantly having to tighten the bolts. I bought a cheap dress form with a stand. No arms. No way to put pants on her.

I need to get a new one soon, mine keeps leaning and I'm constantly having to tighten the bolts. I bought a cheap dress form with a stand. No arms. No way to put pants on her. Thank you! I had ALWAYS thought a manni would be a time suck because of the arms, etc. Plus, even if I had wanted one, I had no place to put one anyways. I used to just lay my stuff on a flat white or black sheet to photo. I actually find the manni to be VERY easy to dress and maneuver. I only remove her left arm when dressing/undressing. I slip the sleeve thru her right arm, over her neck, then slip her left arm thru the left sleeve and attach in place. When I turn her around for pics, I just put my foot on the base and turn her. Actually, it's much easier with the manni. I have an armless one too, but things just don't look as nice on her. I dread taking pics of stuff on the floor nowadays. I HAVE REGROUPED I vacuumed my living room and unloaded/loaded the dishwasher. Made a pot of coffee. And I dug a little more thru my totes. I pulled 12 things that I told myself NO MATTER WHAT they will get listed, flaws and all!

And I need to go thru this one morning with a bag on the floor. Peel the bandaid off, throw "crap" in the bag and drive straight to Goodwill with it.

I will say, I took Zoe's advice and checked out Clothes Mentor. I took in a bin yesterday of stuff that: 1. I got at the bins and was going to send to Twice 2. Things that haven't moved in my store in months. Not even for $10 and under 3. Things I didn't feel like dealing with
They accepted 29 items. That was about half. I was "testing the waters" with them to see what they would take and what they wouldn't. I put some minor flawed items and some items that were 2+ years old. Some personal, no name brand shoes from my closet that has been collecting dust for years. They paid an average of $4.83/pc. Handed cash on the spot, in under an hour. I will keep them in mind for future "dumps".
Back on track: I got my energy back, then my camera batteries died. Put them on the charger, put the other rechargeables in and they were dead too. Went to go ahead and type out listings then DH tells me he has to cut power upstairs since he is hanging our bedroom TV that I BEGGED him to get done today, so I couldn't gripe about that! (he is cutting holes in the wall and hiding the wires behind the sheetrock).
Now I'm back on track. Still motivated. But I only get about 30 more minutes before I have to start dinner.
How are you all doing?

Pictures taken, uploaded to Mac and rotated. Now I'm assigning inventory numbers. Once that's done, I'll go tag the batch and pull 10 to measure and list tonight. I think I'll be lazy and pull 10 very similar items so I can list 'em faster.
