Nifty article on Twice. I didn't realize they'd received investment capital. www.wired.com/2015/01/twice-takes-on-ebay/I liked this comment: The fact is, eBay is kind of a user experience nightmare, a crowdsourced jumble of product shots taken in sketchy lighting with linoleum floors as the backdrop. But eBay has endured despite these shortcomings, largely because the concept of an online marketplace was so revolutionary, and eBay got to it first. Today, however, the company is slowly losing ground both to smaller players including Twice and its nearest competitor thredUP, as well as major tech giants like Amazon, which have seen the flaws in eBay’s marketplace and have tried giving it a facelift. Are any of you still sending stuff to Twice?

their pay-out is too little - it's less than even my initial investment in almost every case - to be honest, it's not that much more than what I can take in tax deduction for a lot of things by just donating.
I found their photo set-up interesting, though.

Yes. Yes I do. Typically, it is BIN finds or pure eBay turds or something that I look at and say "WTF was I thinking when I bought this...it's a photo, KW and measuring nightmare".
If I'm already at the BINS sourcing inventory for ME, I may as well pick up lightweight items to send to them. Typically, it's something I pay a quarter to fifty cents for and the payout could be 1-5 dollars. Do that 20 times. And it's EASY.
I gave up on Threadup already.

I sent things to both Twice and Threadup at the end of last year. Payouts were ok but I sourced my items at the bins very cheaply or they were things from my families closets that we no longer fit.
Maybe I'll try sending some men's clothing to Twice. I have a pile of pants DH no longer fits into (why does he still think he is a size 30...those days are gone).

I was pretty happy with my Twice payouts. And they're a lot faster than thredUP. The last time I sent Twice a bag was about 4-6 weeks ago. Received $71 for about 9 pieces. I was happy with that since they were items I had up on eBay for at least a year with not much interest. And I think there was one piece that was a thredUp reject.
I wouldn't buy anything exclusively to send to them, well not from my regular TS. But for bin finds or rummage sale type things where you might only pay 50 cents or so, or stale eBay items, then yeah, I think they're great.

Hmm, eBay hates competition. Hope they don't buy 'em out! I haven't tried any of the other online venues like Twice... maybe I'll look into it. I DO pass up a lot of good stuff at the bins that I don't want to mess with. Something to think about!

I may give twice another try. I was disappointed with them not taking anything at all from a shipment to them, and have been very pleased with thredUP taking many of the items I have sent and some on consignment out of the last bag, of which 2 of the 4 sold. I opted to take the 2 unsold back and I'll see what to do with them, maybe try with twice again, nothing to lose!

I don't use either one right now. But what is the difference between ThredUp and Twice?

Twice seems to have its act together. Thredup, not so much.
