While this was an interesting article, my issue with it is the same as my issue with every other Cassini article I've read except one. They are all by "anonymous" & there's no information as to how the source supposedly 'knows' all the info. Hence, no credibility.
I especially question the information abt running sales, as it has never been my experience that MM sales help. I also question the comments abt STR. What does he base that on?

I agree that you have to cull these articles for tips you think will work with your situation. I only tried MM a couple of times and neither time worked. I haven't found free shipping to make a difference either.I'm doing a very limited test with some jewelry that was up for re-list and using some of his suggestions to see if it moves the dial. It can't hurt to try since things are pretty s-l-o-w.

Yet another one pushing free shipping and taking returns.

Yet another one pushing free shipping and taking returns. Yes, I know (sigh...). Taking returns, no. But my jewelry test has shipping built in so it's "free". I don't hold out too much hope but it did give me the illusion of doing something tonight. I thought the tip about bulk re-listing as bulk "sell similar" was something I hadn't heard and am willing to try. I just know that I will never Twitter. Nor will I ever have or want followers. Me and the Buddha...

I've heard from a couple of sources that ebay considers 'sell similar' and 'relist' to be the same thing, due to lack of change in specific elements in the listing itself. from what I know of the framework cassini uses, I think that may be correct, so it no longer works.

Like Zoe said, I don't know.... Non credible source, it makes it mean nearly nothing to me.
According to this article, I've been doing EVERYTHING wrong and no one should ever find my stuff LOL! So, I guess I shouldn't be selling ANYTHING! (the last couple of weeks have been dismal, but I haven't really listed much new stuff either) I do not take returns I charge for shipping I used a hosted listing service (adds HTML) My STR sucks because I do participate in the listing sales (and run them shorter times and relist/relist/relist) and I My RSS feed is always on

I think (that's always dangerous) that this person most likely lists multi-quantity new merchandise and his are probably one of a gazillion listings for the same exact item. Totally different business model than most of us.

Isn't that the exact same list someone posted there about a year ago? It read like a repeated post to me. I don't see anything significantly different than what eBay tells us to do.

The date on that article is January 05, 2014 -- so yes, it is the exact same list. Literally!

Is a neg or case really that huge of an impact? He acts as if you may as well slit your wrists and be done with it. I've had open cases and have not had my sales impacted by them.

I've actually sold more this week since my case and defect! It's almost as if eBay feels sorry for me!

To me, this was definitively proved when eBay tested for a month transferring watchers over from the previous listing to the new listing. This autofunction worked on relists AND sell similar, so eBay's computers were reading them as the same thing. When I first started selling, we were able to figure out that eBay did NOT recognize a sell similar as being the same item. It was nice while it lasted.

So my stuff shouldn't sell. Yet when I finally get off my butt and list, I have sales. I'm thinking cassini is built for sellers within a specific selling area (consumer goods like office supplies, electronics) who have multiple quantities per liisting.
