I know buyers can't (or aren't supposed to be able to) file an INR until the EDD is passed. If they're given a window, June 19-23 for example, I assume this means they can't file until the window has passed? The 24th in this case. I really don't want to be calling around to find these packages today if I can wait it out until next week.
This is the first time in a year that going to USPS and requesting e-mail updates hadn't shaken my package loose within a day. I still feel certain they'll be delivered, I just don't want to deal with an INR before that happens. I'd rather call the PO and find the package.

I spoke too soon. I received an update on one of the packages just now. It's found and on the move again. They'll provide an updated delivery date when available, but it looks like this one will make eBay's EDD window. I'm convinced signing up for those e-mail updates alert someone and/or the system if a package has gone off the grid.

You're not the first person to mention this helping, so it does seem like it works.
I figure anything that kicks a package loose is worth trying. And the email updates is an easy thing to ask for.

Thanks. I'd already been to that page to see if it addressed a range of dates, but it does not. It says 'If the estimated delivery date has passed..' Not all EDDs are one date ('on or before __'), but it doesn't address a window of time, such as July 19-23. I realizing I'm splitting hairs. But with eBay I don't necessarily trust what I might feel safe to assume elsewhere. I would feel more comfortable had they spelled it out. I guess I'll find out if I have an INR filed on the 20th.

FYI - for the future: the other thing that shakes a package loose is to file an online lost package claim. I have done this a couple of times and within a day or so I suddenly get the tracking info and the package moves.

I have done this a couple of times and within a day or so I suddenly get the tracking info and the package moves. Good to know. How long before you can do that? I requested e-mail updates on two tracking numbers yesterday and only received an update on one. The POs own EDD from tracking was actually yesterday. But because I've switched to 4 days handling, the date eBay gave the customer bought me a few extra business days. ETA: Never mind. I don't know what I was thinking. My packages are FC. I have no indemnity.

It's been a couple of months since I did this, but I think there was a message on the US Postal site about how you needed to wait a minimum amount of time before filing a lost package claim. I filed anyway even though the time had not elapsed and it shook the package loose and provided tracking showing it was moving.

The second package is also on the move today. Now I'm glad I have a longer handling time as these could have been INR cases otherwise. They were mailed Monday and it appears neither will be delivered until Monday. My packages mailed Tues (also only FC) were delivered Thursday, one literally traveled coast to coast.

I shipped a heavy package that went PM last week. Gut feeling was to get the e-mail notices from USPS. I actually got only 2 notices: one when it was accepted at my PO, and the other stating it was delivered to her front porch! I was slightly freaking out until I got the second one, but come on! Really? Only 2 scans between here and there?!?
