I have a few things that are unbranded and unsized. And a little smaller than the sizes I usually sell, so I'm not even going to try to guesstimate a size for IS. Anyone have a good generic or brand size chart you use in this situation? I was thinking maybe Old Navy or similar. They aren't luxe items.

I personally tread carefully when I don't know the brand. honestly though, old navy would be the LAST size chart I would use. their sizing is really not typical of most items, imo.
I might use a department store one if I had to...jcp or kohls come to mind because they tend to be pretty thorough charts all in one place.
its a hard question because there really isn't a great answer to it since there is no industry standard-without identifying information it can sometimes be hard to tell if its a juniors, a misses, damaged or what.

I have to put something in IS. The hope is always that they'll read the actual measurements in the listing, but if I leave my IS blank I'll never be found. These are repurposed/homemade, so even if I knew the brand of the main piece it wouldn't help due to the way they've been re-made. That sounds like they're craft project gone wrong ugly, but they're really not.
I was thinking Old Navy/Gap/similar are pretty mainstream.

Gap, Kohl's, and Old Navy are all showing the measurements of my items in the M range, so it looks like that's my IS.

Knock on wood - I don't have problems with returns for fit issues when I assign a numeric equivalent to the alphas. But I do give measurements and hold my breath for a week or 2 after delivery. Just the other day I found a great site for A-Z top name brand sizing charts HERE that I also posted on the ECSF under the resources board. Hopefully some of you will find it helpful.

that is a fabulous page-thank you!
hope its a work in progress and they continue to add more brands-I would love every.single.one all on one page.
in fact, i'd pay cold hard cash to access such a thing---maybe someone should get on that as a size business!

Bets, I saw that over at ECSF and had already saved it. Thanks for adding that great resource!
