I have a buyer who sent me an ASQ tonight about her package, shipped on the 8th, last tracking on the 10th when it left the state's massive sort facility. It's heading to Florida, so while I'm not wetting my pants yet, it does seem unusual there's been no other activity since then. The last first class package I sent from WA to FL took 6 days to arrive from drop off to delivery, so this is pretty slow.
Tomorrow I need to try and call that USPS number (does anyone happen to have that too?) to see if I can shake it loose while I refresh USPS's page for updates on movement.
If it doesn't turn up, how long do you guys give First Class packages to arrive cross country before giving up and refunding? USPS is usually so reliable so while it does suck, it's bound to happen once or twice eventually.

I do't refund for 21 days. I set up each buyer with email from USPS when the item is scanned.
When I see it is hung up, I give it a few days and then tell the buyer there seems to be a hang and to be patient.
USPS usually won't start an investigation for 21 days anyway. You ca try calling to see if they can shake it loose.

I've had luck lately by clicking on "help" on the USPS front page. Go to help > contact us > by email. I've used it twice in the past month and the packages have started moving within a couple of days.

Thanks everyone, my buyer is a fairly experienced Ebay user, so I am a little bristled she even started hounding me a week after shipping, if it was my package I would probably be waiting for at least 2 weeks myself before contacting the seller about it.

Good grief, it's only 5 business days since it was shipped. That is way jumping the gun.
First class does seem to be slower at times lately.
I just had one that fell off the radar after 2 weeks and calling finally shook it loose and the buyer got it 4-5 days later.
